I woke up with a nagging headache (brought on by neck stiffness) so it's been a rough start for me so far.

hopeful that horror movies will continue to be great in spite of other things going on in the country. maybe because of. fear and dread is a good motivator for good horror.

I get that but it obviously didn't have a negative effect on horror back then. And since the genre seems to making a comeback in recent years I am optimistic about what the next few years will bring in terms of new horror films.
