What would they learn? Harris actually tried to shed some of her crazier progressive ideas and tried to appeal more toward the middle, no one bought it. Dems could push even further left, but that's part of their problem, most people like common sense stuff, not crying about trannies chopping off dicks etc. Common folk don't like those conversations at their dinner table.Jigsaw wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 7:23 pm Might have helped if Democrats remotely tried to run a fair primary, or Biden hadn't had idiotically ran back in 2020.
Seems like the Democratic Party made a huge mistake in assuming that Americans shared their narrow view on the horrors of a Trump presidency.
In all fairness, I expected Harris to win myself - I thought the Roe v. Wade issue would bring out women that polling didn't quite capture - and the fact that Harris was such a disaster is just embarrassing for the party.
And naturally, I'm saying this as someone who didn't vote for Harris whatsoever.
Here's hoping the party actually learns something from this instead of trying to throw the blame onto others.
Well, the fact that Harris was an unlikable, and rather fake, candidate, would be one thing to learn. Voters didn't find her appealing - I saw exit polls in which first-time voters went Trump, which just blew my mind. Apparently Trump did a better job of bringing out his base than Harris did, and the fact that Democrats have lost to a nutcase like Trump twice shows they don't have an idea of what's going on in this country.Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 7:37 pmWhat would they learn? don't listen to any rightwing pundits at the dinner table because they've always got their mouths full of trans. and they'll spit it all over you.Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 7:37 pmWhat would they learn? I didn't watch the whole thing - stopped at about the 2:50 mark - but these are the exact type of people that are utterly unable to understand why people vote for Trump.
You can gloat in my thread if you want. I'll be making fun of Harris and her shit campaign anyway for the foreseeable future. Don't muck up zombie's pristine thread, though.
They abandoned the working class. Which is the vast majority of the country. They treated his supporters like subhuman scum. And still do. And basically indoctrinated people into hating people that support him. It caused a massive divide in the country. All this started happening before I even supported him. Instead of listening to what people say Trump is saying, or reading something transcribed from a speech, I listened myself. With context. And I liked things he said, he was funny. And seeing the media and celebrities seemingly randomly all come together at the same time to try to tear him down just made me pay more attention to him. The more I saw, the more I became a fan.Jigsaw wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 8:03 pmI didn't watch the whole thing - stopped at about the 2:50 mark - but these are the exact type of people that are utterly unable to understand why people vote for Trump.
As a socialist and a leftist, I can fully understand why people voted for Trump. I understood back in 2015, and though I thought Clinton would win, I knew she was the wrong candidate for Democrats to run against him (and I never voted for Clinton, naturally, as I found her an utter piece of trash), but the average liberal Democrat has no idea at all how to approach this, and while their hearts may be in the right place, if they don't understand the issue, they will never be able to defeat candidates like Trump in the future.
His thread title is perfect for the shit I'd be posting.
i'm certain it's false. but let's look to snopes!Tiggnutz wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 8:00 pmI can't tell if this is real or notReign in Blood wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 7:20 pm Now zombs, you do have something to look forward to. I think that analysis largely nails it, and the real question is whether or not Democrats will get it through their heads. I'm leaning toward 'no.'Jason wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 8:13 pmThey abandoned the working class. Which is the vast majority of the country. They treated his supporters like subhuman scum. I'm not sure what they have up their sleeve, but their future looks Grim. They couldn't rig it this year and it showed. This was a landslide. And they're losing politicians to the right who could have otherwise been their nominee. They cry for democracy while rigging their own democratic elections. Bernie would have been the democratic candidate twice but removed him. And didn't even hold a primary this year. They blatantly cheat and their supporters blindly follow and hilariously echo the sentiment that they're the only party that can save democracy when they've shown they're the only party actively tearing it down.Jigsaw wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 8:17 pmI think that analysis largely nails it, and the real question is whether or not Democrats will get it through their heads. I agree with all of this also (aside from the rigging 2020 part, but I'm not getting into it).Jason wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 8:25 pmI'm not sure what they have up their sleeve, but their future looks Grim. It was most definitely rigged, but it's hard to discuss, so I get it.Jigsaw wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 8:27 pmI agree with all of this also (aside from the rigging 2020 part, but I'm not getting into it).Jason wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 8:25 pmI'm not sure what they have up their sleeve, but their future looks Grim.
