Seb, let's say you're correct about David Duke applauding Trump. Why are you using that as a springboard to slam Trump? Who gives a fuck what David Duke has to say? Trump publicly called David Duke a piece of shit for the last 20 fucking years. Whatever Duke says is complete horse shit, but you will preach his words so long as he is praising someone you try so hard to hate.
Re: Why I grew to love the Donald and forgive his haters
What political problems are unique to groups of people based on the color of their skin? For instance, every problem a black person may experience is the same that a person of any other color may experience. As an example, black people complain about being profiled when they go into stores and such. You don't think the same happens to poor white folks when they go into a high end retailer?zombie wrote:this should extend to those members that feel that however they identify is better than others. there is nothing really wrong with trying to solve problems within certain groups.Foo wrote:EVERYONE needs to get on board and denounce ALL identity politics. White Nationalism, Black Lives Matter, Congressional Black Caucus, KKK, whatever. If your group is about advancing a race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc., then in needs to go away.
Race is going away anyway. My grandparents all had different levels of racism, yet about half of my cousins have black kids. My kids will be cinnamon. Based on both the food truck staff and customers we see, there are a lot of mixed race relations. It is not the exception, it is part of the new norm.
Certain members of my family used to bitch about it all the time. They would go into places dressed and acting like the Beverly Hillbillies and then get all outraged because they got treated that way. It happened to me back when I bought a Cadillac. Walked in to the dealer dressed like I was going to the gym. Shorts and a hoodie. Young guy browsing the showroom. Got ignored. Big deal.
I am sure there are black people who get treated like shit. There are also plenty of black people who don't know how to act in public and dress like some sort of hybrid between a thug and a clown. Who cares? Clean up and then talk to me about it. Spend your money where people respect you.
Re: Why I grew to love the Donald and forgive his haters
if society as a whole stops focusing on identity of people and using that against them, like when certain members of your family are shamed. etc. they are judged because of their identity. why are you pushing for people to not focus on solving problems related to their identity, when other people still clearly focus on how their identity is apparently wrong in whatever way?Foo wrote:

Re: Why I grew to love the Donald and forgive his haters
Many people legitimately believe that white people are responsible for black people murdering themselves daily at the highest rate imaginable. Crazy world. Every American citizen this country now has equal opportunity, and there has never been more incessant bitching and moaning.
Re: Why I grew to love the Donald and forgive his haters
though, if you start calling people out as un-american whenever they shamed someone for their gender or religion or skin color or whatever else, i would be all for that.zombie wrote:if society as a whole stops focusing on identity of people and using that against them, like when certain members of your family are shamed. etc. they are judged because of their identity. why are you pushing for people to not focus on solving problems related to their identity, when other people still clearly focus on how their identity is apparently wrong in whatever way?Foo wrote:

Just walk around your local discount retailer and you see people are their own worst enemy. Get you fat ass out of the scooter. Pull your pants up. Try finding some clothes that are not yoga or sweat pants, try walking across the parking lot and not parking in the fire lane, put your cart in the corral, a shower cap is not meant to be seen in public, try disciplining your bastard child, pull your hood down, it is not raining indoors, etc.
Fucking lethargic looking people milling around like cows. It is not a race thing, it is a stupid thing.
Re: Why I grew to love the Donald and forgive his haters
Wonder why the media was not asking Obama every day if he was denouncing every black hate group? It's almost like they have an agenda or something...Jason wrote:Seb, let's say you're correct about David Duke applauding Trump. Why are you using that as a springboard to slam Trump? like i said, don't want identity politics.. when you find someone looking down on another person or denying rights based on gender, race, religion, sexual orientation.. then let them know they are un-american. that would be really cool. it would be inclusive. america has always been a melting pot anyways, so it makes sense. and you said that you consider america to be like a family, so it should be easy.

Again, most of these identity groups do far more damage to their own cause than good. The White Nationalists, Black Lives Matter, and every other race based group look like a bunch of thugs every time I see them. Both would be better served by cleaning up their own kitchens rather than protesting on the streets.

it's cool. i thought you wanted to move away from identity politics. i don't know how to do that, if you don't want to start to make an effort yourself, and among us. you can hope it happens as much as you want. that just seems like it won't amount to anything actual. *shrug*
Re: Why I grew to love the Donald and forgive his haters
Call out actions. Behavior, dress, etc. Race doesn't matter. All this bullshit about helping this community and that community are nothing but lies to get money or power. If "Black Lives Matter" was a real thing, they would be in cities where black people die daily from shootings, not the relatively rare high profile police related shootings.zombie wrote:Foo wrote:If I talked to everyone as bluntly as I talk to my family, I would not be very popular.zombie wrote:you're seemingly just looking for some kind of cover or ease of guilt or something.Foo wrote:

i'm not making money off of this. i was making it bigger than race. it seems like you just wanna keep going and forth with me, instead of finding some kind of solution. that's your prerogative.Foo wrote:Call out actions. Re: Why I grew to love the Donald and forgive his haters
I gave the solution. Stop identity politics. Dismiss any effort to divide based on race. When someone starts talking about race, call them a clown and move on. When someone calls themselves an African-American and they were not born in Africa, call them a clown and move on. When someone talks about white supremacy, call them a clown and move on.
When race is considered instead of merit, resist. Tell them you do not stand for bigotry, and the best person should be chosen. When someone says "historic" and really means "First black person to do it", resist. When someone talks about white privilege, resist. When someone talks about white supremacy, resist.
Be a man who is looking for equality, not a tool for others to get power and money through division.

Re: Why I grew to love the Donald and forgive his haters
sounds good. we can both go that way. don't divide people into identity groups either, when discussing problems and such, would be a good step as well.

Re: Why I grew to love the Donald and forgive his haters
Because I think Duke is right this time, sadly. I think Trump has done more to advance the White Supremacosts cause and ease into the mainstream than any president before. It was easy to just denounce the racists as racists and call it a day. Instead he called those fighting racists equal to the racists themselves and created an equivalence between the two groups. The most telling thing he said in that conference was something about "white supremacists or neo Nazis or whatever you guys are calling them" because that basically dismisses it as not being a group but rather a phony label put there by the fake News. Which is how they now get to spin it. They can say there was one bad guy who took it too far by driving his car into people. But the rest of the group, are fine people.Jason wrote:Seb, let's say you're correct about David Duke applauding Trump. Why are you using that as a springboard to slam Trump? When everyone rejects the fringe left and right than we can start to get somewhere. If you don't treat both equally you embolden one or the other. It's just that simpleshowa58taro wrote:Because I think Duke is right this time, sadly.
