American Tabloid and Libra are both great fictional takes on the assassination.

Re: TikTok Ban
That reminds me, I have some books about the JFK assassination in my dad's book collection. Haven't read them, but wondered if you thought any of these were worth reading:
High Treason - Robert Groden and Harrison Edward Livingstone
Inquest: The Warren Commission and the Establishment of the Truth - Edward Jay Epstein
Plausible Denial - Mark Lane

Re: TikTok Ban
Have read none of those. I can only recommend two or three that are completely essential, though.Jigsaw wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 4:01 pm That reminds me, I have some books about the JFK assassination in my dad's book collection. There are enough books out there to read non stop for like 300 years.Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 4:14 pm The 2 greatest JFK nerds of my generation haven't read those books huh. I'll be god damned.

Re: TikTok Ban
Getting this thread back on topic
So the US congress passed a law banning TikTok, the website goes dark but now all of the sudden it's back?
If there is a law banning this POS app then why suddenly is it back? How is that even legal?
I understand Trump has spoken in support of the app not being banned (which makes zero sense to me) but still if the law says it's banned because the Chinese company that owns it refused to sell then it should be banned.
Perhaps I am missing something here. I admit I have not fully followed this story.

From what I understand, you can use it if you had it, but app stores aren't letting people download it. Biden said if they passed the law, he'd ignore it(i.e. tell the DoJ not to bother prosecuting) and Trump likes the app, so he's not gonna do anything about it either. Essentially, none of this matters. It's like how jaywalking is illegal, but no one really cares.

So in other words, more tax payer money was wasted on debating/making a law that won't be enforced.Slaughterhouserock wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 1:54 pm From what I understand, you can use it if you had it, but app stores aren't letting people download it. I shouldn't be surprised.
