All sports. We don't even mind if its women's Curling or junior badminton. Although we won't have strong opinions on the latter.

PCP is not a performance enhancing drug. Interesting idea but I like mine better.

Why is it the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard?
You want to make steroids legal for athletes purely for entertainment purposes and forget everything about honest competition. Where does that stop if you don't want to consume chemicals created to pack more meat on livestock you should do something else with your life.

It is honest competition if it's legal. That's the point. Right now, it isn't honest. What's so much better about guys who juice not being honest about it and beating up on other fighters who aren't juicing? What moral high ground exists there?

And yeah, it's entertainment before it's anything else. So "purely for entertainment purposes" is just the name of the game.

I don't see the moral leap from putting two men in a cage to punch, kick and choke each other to using PEDs, but I gotcha.

I've long said that about baseball etc. but I think the discussion changes a bit when talking about contact sports, especially something as dangerous as MMA. An athletic freak like Brock Lesnar absolutely juiced to the gills, I don't give a fuck of the money I ain't taking that fight.

Fair, I didn't take that into consideration.

I do think there's present danger is not knowing who the juicers are though. These dudes who do it the right way now have no idea if the guy they're fighting is juicing.

With someone like Brock I am picturing something like Attila from Lionheart, outright maiming motherfuckers if not killing them. Now you can eventually pit him against his match, but imagine how many broken bodies it may take to get there.

Seeing that picture of Cyborg Santos' crushed skull hurt me just looking at it, I don't want to see that shit become rampant.

You'd assume that it would be fun in some sports though. Like cycling, sprinting, or weight lifting.

Absolutely agree. And if Cormier or Hunt got seriously injured after their fights with Jones and Brock, it'd be interesting to see the ramifications. But I think we can agree the juicers now are getting a slight advantage (which is ridiculous for Jones because I think 99% knew he'd win anyways), not juicing to make them 5x the wrecking machine or summat. But still definitely agree.

Of course, that's why I always use baseball as my go to example. America's (and perhaps even the world's) passion and fascination with baseball was never bigger than when McGwire and Sosa were chasing the record, and even Bonds, all jacked and juiced to the nines. So let's have one league where the players want an even playing field, things are clean and fair, and one where the players don't give a fuck about long term health ramifications and their focus is to knock that ball out of the ballpark and into the parking lot, or steal bases like the flash, or throw a face melting heater etc. I know which one will be watched more.

There was never a more fun era in baseball than the late 90s-early 00s. Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa were cultural icons. Not a single baseball player today is a cultural icon. Not only do I think steroids was good for baseball, I think it saved baseball from obscurity as the NFL just kept getting bigger and the Jordan era made the NBA huge.

40-year-old D.C. was pushing the pace, instigating the action and bullying the younger, stronger, taller, more athletic fighter Jon Jones, who happened to be in his fucking prime. Oh, and juiced to the gills.

D.C. is an all-time top 5 fighter. Jones isn't even in consideration anymore.

And where do you stand on juicing them all up until they can punch each other's heads off?

I would say prevent them from taking the long-term damage type shit, like the pure anabolic agents that make you strong as fuck (Jones, Belfort, Lesnar type roids).

These sports are pushing athletes beyond human limits. They should be allowed to take something, but in this era, you can get popped for mixing benadryl and tylenol or some shit. It's insane.

Most nuanced and realistic take I've heard so far, unsurprising from the dude who knows more about this shit than the rest of us. I like it.

Same goes for football. Just like MMA, most of those athletes are pushing their bodies beyond their human potential.
The sudden rise in ACL tears is not some coincidence to me.
