Really? He's only an 11-1 favorite? Lol. Conor is getting murked in training by guys who are barely ranked in the top 40. This is the closest thing to "no chance" in boxing history.

Yeah I think anywhere you place the odds it's never going to be close to realistic value because he literally has no chance. This is a mockery of sports.

It's now being labeled as "The biggest fight in combat sports history".

Fuck all of you. This fuckin' dork was on welfare four years ago, used his mouth to gain notoriety and fame, now he's gonna kill his career for 100 million. Never defended a title in his entire MMA career, yet he gets the say in everything that goes on because he talks shit on the mic like a 4 year old. It's insanity. People actually compare Colin McNugget to Muhammad Ali. He got rocked into oblivion on an Intro-to-Boxing 1-2 combo by a fuckin' volume puncher in the UFC. And people are making a big deal out of this. Not because of what Conor has actually done in his fighting career, but how he holds the microphone.

"The biggest disgrace in combat sports history".

All the build up is faker than any WWE match I've ever seen. The games, the trash talk...very well orchestrated by the two. Floyd telling the media he prepared less for this fight than any in his career was a really nice touch too.

Probably, but it's not the reason he made it known publicly. Have to sell McGregor's chances to the public.

McGregor lasted 10 rounds and made it the most action-packed Mayweather fight I've ever seen, gotta give him that.

To me, he won those first two rounds and probably the 6th. I was stunned.

I'm probably a bad judge because I base all Boxing on Rocky, so to me McGregor won the whole fucking thing, but yeah. :ugeek:

The last half of that fight was a god damn massacre if I've ever seen one. Floyd picks his shots like a sniper. It was beautiful to watch. And it's about damn time he got a finish. I expected that he was just gonna counter-counter-counter the entire fight and bloody Colin up to win a boring decision. This fight was actually pretty damn exciting. Watching Floyd sit back and intentionally eat the first two rounds, then give that smile at the end of round 3 before he went to town on Conor was pretty amazing. Shows that he knew the outcome of the fight better than any human being watching the event. Conor was the bigger guy, by far. Had the biggest reach, is in the prime of his life against a 40+ year old dude, and Floyd was the quicker and more powerful fighter with indescribably amazing conditioning. Conor looked like he met a train head on after the fight, while Floyd looks like he just woke up from a nap. That is the most undervalued aspect of the event, in my opinion. Floyd is a top 10 boxer of all time.

In the opening seconds of the first round, Mayweather went right to the ropes and McGoon played right into his game. I knew he was done at that point (even though I knew he was done before the fight was even announced). Nugget landed a couple of pretty good shots in random rounds, but that was it. Floyd knew he could take 'em. Dude was dead by round 5-6. Floyd did the Ali-Foreman thing, only he needed just 3 rounds instead of 8. lol. Overall, this is somewhat of a win for MMA. Dana and Conor will be like "Well, MMA won at least 1-2 rounds! :D " for every single Conor fight in the future, while normal people will look at this and say that Conor clearly got his ass handed to him and is still the happiest person in the room because he got his hunnit millyun.

This is coming from a guy who isn't a fan of either fighter, by the way.

Oh, and the moment of the fight was Mayweather's post-fight interview with Jim Gray and Mayweather's response to Gray's question about Floyd being in the hall of fame one day, and Floyd responding by saying he looks forward to seeing Jim Gray in the hall of fame. Greatest response ever. Always loved Jim Gray. Wonderful shout out. That actually made me glad that Floyd won.

I had a buddy at work that was surprised when I mentioned it, that this goes down to McGregor getting gassed. He's shown it before. 12 rounds is a lot more than 5, especially with the best. I give him credit though, when I first saw a headline of McGregor bitching about the stoppage, it wasn't that he was gonna miraculously come back, it's that Money deserved to put him down. If I was a fighter I'd think I'd be the same way, we go the distance to a decision or we knock one or the other the fuck out. If it's severe bleeding from a cut or whatever, fine, but in general let it go.

It was a good stoppage. The referee saw him eating a ton of very heavy shots and wavering in the previous rounds before the 10th. He needed to be saved. The "he didn't do any damage, I was just fatigued" excuse was total fucking nonsense, though. But I am surprised he said "let me get KO'd" instead of "I was coming back" or something.

In all, this was the biggest fight of Conor's life on the biggest stage and he was already gassing after round 4. Kind of an embarrassment, if you ask me. I'm not sure what he was thinking. When Floyd went right to the ropes at the beginning of the fight to let Conor tee off, and Conor jumped right into the bait, I originally thought he was an idiot. Then realized maybe there was a mutual understanding between the two in that, "I'll give you four rounds to give me your best shots, after that I'm coming and you know you're done" kind of thing.

Forgot to mention, too. The most irritating moment was when the referee was talking to the fighters right before the fight, and the fans started booing because they didn't care what he had to say and just wanted the fight to start. Robert Byrd was an excellent referee that night, and the GOAT black KKK member.
