It's a slow-burn (pun somewhat intended), but I enjoyed the hell out of it. Hopefully it does the same for you.Jason wrote:Burnt Offerings is a flick I need to see. I'll be buying it for the challenge.

Havok says so, and it was recommended to me, so I'll vote yes.zombie wrote:is a cure for wellness horror?

Girl With All the Gifts, based off havok's review on the radio show months back, sounds odd. I'll probably watch it sometime, but it doesn't sound like the type of film to appeal to me.zombie wrote:so then i'll add cure for wellness, girl with all the gifts, and raw, to my watch list.zombie wrote:so for the challenge, i've got (or will have during october) after midnight, castlefreak, southbound, the lure, devil's candy, cult of chucky, it stains the sands red, over your dead body, freeze me, 31. i hope to get silver bullet, wolfen, and bad moon too.

Raw, however, does sound pretty fun. I'll probably watch it sometime before 2026 or so.

I have a lot to choose from for first watches, but i'm thinking about going with either Ratline or As Night Falls. There's also quite a few I've saved back for the challenge like Chawz, The Blackface Killer and Night Of The Bums.

Still trying to figure out what I want my first watch to be.
Torn between The Pit (1981), Incubo sulla città contaminata (1980), Get Out (2017), A Cure for Wellness (2016), Southbound (2015) and Dead Silence (2007).

When the clock strikes midnight, I will be watching TCSM and then The Shallows. Burnt Offerings is coming in the mail. Was gonna watch that for the first viewing if it got here in time, but it didn't.

Re: The October Challenge Discussion Thread: 2017
Since I'll be working 11:00 pm tonight to 7:30 am tomorrow morning, and I need some sleep afterward, my first watch (which is looking like it'll be Get Out) won't happen until around 12:30 pm tomorrow. Hoping to get four in tomorrow total.

Is that the 1977 version or the 2006 remake? Either way, decent film to start with.showa58taro wrote:Started with a classic. Ease in.

Yeah, I don't think i'll be able to start anything tonight. I just got back in from Scarefest and i'm on the brink of passing out.
Have fun for those who start at midnight.

I guess since Cult Of Chucky is in fact not uploaded to Netflix yet, I'll have to do something else. Devil's Candy maybe.

Embry's character is a Metallica fan. Nice.
Re: The October Challenge Discussion Thread: 2017
Started The Shallows first instead of TCSM. Blake Lively's hotness couldn't wait. Movie is p. crummy up to this point.

1977. Didn’t want to start too modern. Trying to rekindle the flame.Jigsaw wrote:Is that the 1977 version or the 2006 remake? Either way, decent film to start with.showa58taro wrote:Started with a classic. Ease in.
The Shallows
Lucky ass bird, stranded on the rocks with Blake Lively. I would've made a move by now, though.

Hey, Blake. Do you like leg puns? Me personally, I can't stand them!showa58taro wrote:Lol. Of course you would.Jason wrote:Lucky ass bird, stranded on the rocks with Blake Lively. I would've made a move by now, though.
