Re: NBA Playoffs
Question now is what does GM LeBron do to give them a chance next year?
Not removing until John Elway is fired.
Re: NBA Playoffs
Steph was playing pretend. Trayvon Groin shouldn't have Trayvon groined. And it was only one game. He was there for the last two and still lost. Bogut is a loser.Headhunter wrote:Injured Steph + suspended Draymond, Bogut injury made a difference last year too. Would have been cool to see a series between both teams at full strength before KD came though. Pretty hopeless now.
Re: NBA Playoffs
Alls ya gotta do is take KD out in game 2 like the Warios did Kawhi. Pull a sneaky Pachulia move on KD and you're golden!... state!Headhunter wrote:Question now is what does GM LeBron do to give them a chance next year?

Re: NBA Playoffs
Yeah competitors would definitely pretend to be injured to throw a series. Good call. He had a knee injury and his lateral cutting ability was non-existent, why Kevin Love (an awful defender) was able to stop him late in a game 7. Healthy Steph gets that space so easily. He was on display tonight. Draymond still wasn't on the court, that makes a difference. And Bogut is a loser, but he was huge in that series until his injury.Jason wrote:Steph was playing pretend. That's when Klay wakes the fuck up again, lights them up and it doesn't matter.Jason wrote:Alls ya gotta do is take KD out in game 2 like the Warios did Kawhi. Golden State could lose any one of their four stars and win this series after this game.

He's pretending to be injured because he absolutely sucks, now he has an excuse for the absolute sucking. :pHeadhunter wrote:Yeah competitors would definitely pretend to be injured to throw a series. What was his excuse the year before when he played even worse and GS still won?
Re: NBA Playoffs
Which is the pathetic thing about the NBA. Just imagine if LeBron joined the Warriors next year. They would go 82-0 and sweep the finals.Headhunter wrote:That's when Klay wakes the fuck up again, lights them up and it doesn't matter.Jason wrote:Alls ya gotta do is take KD out in game 2 like the Warios did Kawhi. Re: NBA Playoffs
The other 28 NBA teams know their sports life is going to be useless for the next 5 years unless they join the Warios or the LeBron team.

Re: NBA Playoffs
He wasn't worse...actually it's funny how people choose to remember his Finals in 2015 because of a couple bad games. His Game 5 in that series was legendary, solid Game 1, went on a heater in the second half of Game 3 and distributed the ball perfectly out of traps to set up teammates for open shots in games 4 and 6. Overall, not quite at his MVP level but not 2010 LeBron either. Pretty good series.Jason wrote:He's pretending to be injured because he absolutely sucks, now he has an excuse for the absolute sucking. :pHeadhunter wrote:Yeah competitors would definitely pretend to be injured to throw a series. Re: NBA Playoffs
Steph, Klay and Draymond are all incredibly underpaid. The cap is designed to prevent three star super teams and the Warriors were able to fit four. You could write a novel on how much Steph's lowball contract shaped the NBA for the next five years.Jason wrote:Which is the pathetic thing about the NBA. Ok. That doesn't stop superstar #5 from saying "You know what, I don't need 25 million a year. I'm tired of losing. I'll take a pay cut to play with the Warios".Headhunter wrote:Steph, Klay and Draymond are all incredibly underpaid. Re: NBA Playoffs
That wouldn't happen, ever. Or it would have already. These guys aren't turning down that money, it's their job and their primes, that would just be reckless. Only old role players generally make those moves after they've made all their money. Steph and KD will both be getting their money this summer anyway and the Warriors will be paying a gazillion in luxury tax for a while to keep the big four together. No cap room left.Jason wrote:Ok. Re: NBA Playoffs
That shit always happens. Look at football. Brady, Manning, loads of others take pay cuts to stay on certain teams. Chris Harris could've gotten a shit load more money elsewhere but chose to stay in Denver. It's not all about money for a lot of these guys.

Re: NBA Playoffs
Peyton took a 4 million dollar cut (bitched about it too) and got it all back. Brady just renegotiates his contracts when need be to help with the cap, but he just gets more money up front and doesn't actually take big pay cuts. You're lucky to get a 20% discount, the trick is to re-sign before they hit the market like Harris and Wolfe.
In general, football contracts and basketball contracts are nothing alike, with totally different payout structures and negotiation flexibility. In football, players are so expendable players are mostly better off taking whatever deal they can get first. Basketball contracts are set in stone. You know how much you can hope to earn on free agency. With football, you just pay a little more than the last top player at your position to get a contract and so on.
Basically, it barely happens to any degree in football and basically doesn't at all in basketball. You are talking about some nostalgic Field of Dreams shit right now, but it is a business.

Re: NBA Playoffs
The Warriors can pay him the most money, so why wouldn't he? Like 20% more money while being with the best team. You can always earn more on max contracts re-signing with your own team. You can go well over the cap limit to keep your own, not to sign guys from other teams.

Re: NBA Playoffs
Durant and Curry can both earn 36 million dollars next year on escalating four year contracts while keeping Draymond and Klay.
Lot of luxury tax for the owner to pay, but Lacob doesn't give a shit. Some owners, like OKC's, aren't willing to sustain budding super teams because of the luxury tax. That's why they traded James Harden.

Re: NBA Playoffs
Looked it up because I was curious and...basically if KD and Steph both take the max contract starting at 36 million per year, the Warriors would have to renounce their rights to Iguodala and Livingston and other teams could blow the Warriors away with offers, but if KD take a two year contract starting at 32 million next year, this would give the Warriors the rights to exclusively negotiate with Iguodala and Livingston, in which case they are able to keep everyone and spend well above the salary cap. NBA contract rules are confusing but barely a 10% pay cut for Durant keeps everyone together per different contract structures. The bottom line is the core of Steph, Klay, Draymond, KD, Iguodala and Livingston will all be there for at LEAST the next two years. I'm looking for odds on a three-peat right now.

Don't look for odds on a three-peat, because Steph absolutely sucks.
