Ghost Story
I remember hating this one quite a bit, but it's been damn near 20 years so I thought I'd give it another shot.

Nothing special. Not sure why I hated it so much though.Monster wrote:Ghost Story

Checking out Curse of the 49'er. Directed by John Carl Buechler, and has Martin Kove and Karen Black in it.
At least he's consistent with his made-for-tv look.

You'd think for a director who likes to pride on graphic practical FX, he'd have a higher standard in this cheapie. The 49er killer isn't even up to snuff to be a scarer at Knottsberry Farm.

Plot wise, it's like a slasher version of Pumpkinhead, though instead of killing a boy, these nuts stole a ghost's gold and has now cursed the area with them as the primary target.
Does not have Stan Winston's eye though. Nope.
Might watch Pumpkinhead after this though.

This keeps up, could be my fave zombie movie in many years.
Re: The October Challenge Discussion Thread: 2017
It was alright. Compared to the last few Werewolf like films i've seen (Dark Moon Rising, Uncaged, Crying Wolf.) it's one of the better ones. Werewolf had an interesting look and some alright gore in places. Some parts were just awkward like the Mother/Father racism sub plot.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Havok: Thoughts on Mexican Werewolf in Texas?

It was one of the earliest Challenge watches for me, way way back. I remember hating it, but I'd need to rewatch to compare to some of these newer chunks of crap.Havok wrote:It was alright.
