80's Teen Movies

Post by Tiggnutz »

What are some of your favorite 80s teen movies? When D mentioned Just One of the Guys in another thread it made me think that no other decade can touch the 80s for fun teen comedies.

I hate Cusack for shitting all over those movies, too. Asshole forgets what got him other opportunities.

For a long time, Cusack disavowed them and Savage Steve. I guess Cusack has been nicer recently now that he can't get as much work.

I shifted my love to Savage Steve. Especially when I learned that Cusack has been in a lot of shit and most is not worth watching while Savage Steve is batting 1.000.

my bodyguard is a flick that more people should see, definitely. but it's more serious than most of the other 80s teen movies.

I found Risky Business to be pretty decent the first time I watched it. Second time I loved it. Among the best. Ferris Bueller also comes to mind.

80's teen movies= LOVE

I loved (and still do)

Weird Science-When they transform Paxton's character!
Fast Times at Ridgemont High- fav parts are when they destroy the car and blame the other school, any scene with Damone and when the brother gets walked in on! Hehehe
Once Bitten- That lady will always be the vampire lady to me. When she was on a commercial selling something she looked wrong out of her vamp wardrobe!
License to Drive- Hadn't see it in years and when it went back on Netflix I still laugh at it. Love where he leaves his dad walking with groceries to take Mercedes in the car and the look on his dad's face when he gets home...
Bill & Ted's- So much fun even all these years later. I still like the first one better though
My Science Project- I still want that magical pop up middle finger for my car
Just one of the Guys- Made me laugh but was sweet too. I get a kick out of how much screen they have to fuzz out when they would play it on tv when the scene was in the brothers room. Too many boobs! Plus JAMES BROWN references!!
Sixteen Candles -JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!, plus my son is a clone of Anthony Michael Hall as a teen complete with headgear so I'm even more smitten with it.
One Crazy Summer- the slap on the kids back! I still don't slap people on the back for that reason!
Soul Man- -I watched the hell out of this years ago. Hasn't been that rewatchable though.
My Best Friend is a Vampire- just stupid fun!
Teen Wolf -I wasn't that into it when it came out but it has grown on me

I hated Ferris Bueller. I still hate Ferris Bueller. It's one of those that it seems sooooo many love but I can't even make myself like it.

Breakfast Clubber here, along with Ferris Bueller, My Bodyguard, Just One Of The Guys, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Heathers, Weird Science (fuck what Joss Whedon says), Better Off Dead, Can't Buy Me Love, Say Anything, Lucas, Little Darlings and....

Does Summer School count? I mean, the main character is the teacher so it could be a grey area...

Thought I was pretty much the only person who knew or cared for My Bodyguard. I saw it probably before I was even ten. I was a lot like Chris from the movie. I was the smart kid in class and very small for my age throughout elementary and most of high school. I never got beat up or anything, but I was generally the kid that was made fun of the most. Seeing flaws in Chris's hero really fucked with my brain back in the day. Great flick.
