Trump and the tax code simplification

It will get heated. Can't take it, don't open the forum.

True. The deficit and knock on trade deficit as you lose out are the big talking points. M

That and the first tax bill so partisan it literally takes money from blue states to give to red states.

The senate looks like it will be the downfall of the tax bill now. This really would be a massive amount of ineptitude if they don't get their act together.

A couple things to consider:

1. All Democrats are Democrats, and some Republicabs are Democrats
2. Democrats all vote together as a bloc

Getting 48 of 52 Republicans together on a bill is not enough, but it is not ineptitude either. This is just the new reality of American politics. Hard to imagine not a single democrat favors middle class tax cuts.

They are the ruling party that can’t rule. Vote them out. Get Democrats in who can get shit done.

"Shit" would be the appropriate term. They can send everyone's healthcare skyrocketing again! Woohoo!

Like it isn't still skyrocketing under the Republicans and the extreme pressures it's put on all healthcare providers to hike up premiums amid the massive uncertainty they face.

Seriously though, if they can't pass a tax package, having failed to repeal and replace Obamacare and having had no other legislative achievements, it is surely time to pull the plug on them. Why would anyone think they can govern if they can't even do the basics of their own plans well? There's literally no reason to trust them with anything.

Even in the short term, the recent increases are literally due to Republican obstructionism which has continued as it governs.

Again, Republicans do not vote as a bloc. They seem capable of independent thought. Democrats do not have this feature.

Trump, Rand Paul, Mitch McConnell, Lisa Murkowski, and Mike Pence are quite a bit different.

Capitalist patriot, a libertarian, old establishment Republican, a moderate liberal, an evangelical...

I guess that explains why no republicans helped pass stuff during Obama’s term. Such diverse thought.

Both parties have diversity but love solidarity in opposition.

The key difference is that Republicans have no guiding vision of the world.

Actually, the republican congress passed many things Obama signed into law such as Doc Fix, the Highway Bill, Drug Legislations, Medicare fixes, etc.

You are just not aware of it because the liberal media vomit you are regurgitating does not see cooperation as a good story. True, no republican supported ObamaCare, but no one in their right mind should have either.

Cooperation is literally the best possible story. It tends to get lost in the countless acts of obstructionism, short-termism, and partisan hackery that the GOP engaged in during the final 6 years of Obama's presidency. With regrets, there is simply no way to compare that level of obstruction to anything before it.

And even now under Trump, you say that Democrats should have more diversity, but why has every single starting point been aimed at excluding Democrats in that case? That is the exact opposite of the Obama era. Even Obamacare deliberately had a lot of input from Republicans and open debates in many committees before going through the process it went through. And even then, it heavily favoured Red States. The current tax overhaul is taking Blue State money to give to Red States for their ineptitude. And you wonder why you don't get Democrats onboard? Nobody should be on board with these terrible terrible ideas being pushed.

What a clusterfuck. Guess once people get to read the now passed bill (if Obama did this I guarantee there’s be fucking riots on the right) then we might find out just how rich the rich are getting. Fun times.

Secondary degree sadness for the Alaskan Arctic and for women’s rights, and healthcare premiums that are set to soar.

Honestly there’s so much wrong with this bill. Be fun to watch as facts emerge. The amendments include stunning things that will Fuck over some sections of society.

If you hate people keeping more of what they earn, you probably have issues.

You cannot give tax cuts to people who do not pay taxes in the first place. So of course tax cuts will disproportionately favor payers over non-payers. 95% of the whiners don't pay taxes, but think they do.

Would gladly trade our stupid and lazy young people for hard working foreigners who want to immigrate legally! We can put those tunnels to Mexico to productive use! Or we can have Elon Musk drill one and give liberals a big boner in the process.
