Yeah, he spoils the fuck out of it. I thought it was a good and fair review. Loved it, but had some concerns that he admits he didn't think he could do better, but had other suggestions, again admitting they likely wouldn't be better.
Though...I really want to see him do a bit with Chewie monologuing to Luke about Han's death. Have it as a bonus feature on the blu ray or something. Just a buch of Chewie roars, getting emotional, and Luke responding "Oh my" "he didn't" "you don't say" "I told you that sith crazy!"

Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi
without going into spoilers or anything, is the last jedi too disney-fied and / or too "sjw" to you guys? i've been seeing that a lot elsewhere online.

Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi
I don't feel "Disney-fied" with it, except maybe some of the humor (and it's no where near as numerous as trolls claim, the movie's tone is still on the bleak side). I wouldn't go so far with the "sjw" but men with very fragile masculinity could easily cry that, such as more variety of races in the cast and some animal-rights-esque stuff, and noticing that there's women in power on the rebellion/resistance side (which there has always been women in power in the series, so it's not new).zombie wrote:without going into spoilers or anything, is the last jedi too disney-fied and / or too "sjw" to you guys? i've been seeing that a lot elsewhere online.

Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi
The "I'm not racist but..." crowd seemed very mad online about the Asian character getting major screen time.
Not removing until John Elway is fired.

Because it was... FORCEd
Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi
is there any reason narrative-ly that non-white characters or non-male characters should not have a big presence within the movie? if so, then it might be forced.Jason wrote:Because it was... FORCEd

Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi
Of course if the character was white, nobody says anything. It's the innate bigotry that draws them to such judgments. Sad.

Nope. It's just that "white male" is equivalent to "normal" or even "correct" for those bitching.zombie wrote:is there any reason narrative-ly that non-white characters or non-male characters should not have a big presence within the movie? if so, then it might be forced.Jason wrote:Because it was... I don't know, I hardly give a fuck about Star Wars and didn't even know there was an asian character, let alone people whining about it. Lol.zombie wrote:is there any reason narrative-ly that non-white characters or non-male characters should not have a big presence within the movie? if so, then it might be forced.Jason wrote:Because it was... People like to spin shit, though. Are people whining that the character is asian, or that the asian character sucked? I thought Kevin Tran was a lame ass character in Supernatural, not because he was asian, but because he was a lame ass character.

Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi
They are complaining that the character is Asian. Whether the character sucked or not should not include any discussion of ethnicity. That they intertwine those complaints is just racism bubbling to the surface.Jason wrote:I don't know, I hardly give a fuck about Star Wars and didn't even know there was an asian character, let alone people whining about it. Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi
Didn't feel like anything was forced to me. All the major characters, new and old, were very likable. No one in the movie made an issue of their race. I didn't feel like I was being beaten over the head with any kind of social commentary at all.

You are HMF's official SJW. lol.Headhunter wrote:Nope. Asians are fuckin' nerds. Black people steal a lot of shit. White people dance like retards. Mexicans stab you at Dodger games. I'd rather we all joke about that shit instead of whining about racism all the god damn time. :p
