Doubt it. He was one of the weak spots in Rogue One for me anyway. Not because of him, but because he felt like a complete waste, given how much he had been hyped up. Expected much more with his character.

I hear he's got a significant role on Star Wars Rebels.

i didn't see the hype, other than he looked cool in the trailers. maybe he had a bigger role in the film before the reshoots. i am kind of curious how it looked as gareth edwards had intended it.

my only real gripe with the movie is that the finale should have felt more hopeless, until you expected them to lose completely when vader shows up, until the hand off of the plans. i think they could have played that up more with the music or something.

That's true, there was a ton of reshoots. Maybe there was more to him.

Odd, most people love that climax. I sure did, by far the best moment of the movie for me, Darth Vader finally being shown being the big bad threat we only heard about.

I really dig the 2nd half of Rogue One, the first half was "eh" to me.

i thought it was really cool, as it was. the characters were cool and interesting (even saw and galen, for the time they had) the action was awesome. but the deaths seemed to be fatalistic. like i'm gonna die. at least i did this. the stakes could have been more dire, if even just for the moviegoers. and that isn't really a knock on my enjoyment of the movie. like i said earlier, i think it's my favorite of all of the movies.

I didn't need Jynn to be related to anyone in particular, so squeezing that daddy/daughter subplot felt forced, and once it was done, it felt like we just got through bad traffic and we're finally able to travel at comfortable speeds.

i mean, i get that if she was related to luke or han or someone, or even like as been suggested that she's rey's mother. that would be different than having a father and daughter in the same movie. but then you might know more about him, than just rogue one. so it would be a similar type of thing. i don't know if he's had appearances in canonical stuff outside of rogue one.

To my knowledge, he doesn't. It's all contained in the one movie. I wouldn't remove Galen or Jyn, Galen (i have no idea if I'm spelling it right) was definitely needed because it helped the "plot hole" that there was such a weakness on the death star, and Jyn was a scoundrel that came to the aid of the rebellion (hey, another one!). I would just erase them being related because it was too convenient of a plot device for me. I don't mind convenience for story, but I guess my line is where I focus on it too much it distracts me. This distracted me.

We'll just have to agree to disagree about the casino scenes. I see what you're saying, but I still feel it was pointless.

I was referencing this interview he did where he said "it's not my Luke", then went on to say he had to view it as if it was Jake Skywalker, and that it was a "new generation" of Star Wars. And the bitch comment was him having no damned character development. He was a bitch, he shouldn't still be a bitch. I had just woken up, so I'm surprised I was even slightly coherent.

How long did it take Luke to lift the fucking ship in the swamp? Then look how long it took Rey to lift fifty fucking boulders and keep them all in the air like it was nothing. That's what I'm talking about.

It's a rebellion, not a military. People are a bit more lenient with shit like that in those situations. If this was someone we had met previously, and were given some indication that she runs things like it was the military, then it'd make more sense. As it stands, we get some random new person put in charge(because we really need more cameos) to push the plot forward. Again, I get what you're saying, but it felt like a bad plot device to me.

Space chase scenes are crap. Making a "slow" one just made it more crap. As with everything I've stated here, this is my opinion only.

I never watched BG either, so I didn't know that.

Del Toro's usually makes characters interesting, so it was no surprise that he was the best part of the casino bit.

TFA wasn't anything special, but it was entertaining, and that's all I ask for. It's why I like movies like Terror Toons after all.

And I don't feel like you're attacking me. You obviously have strong opinions about this, whereas I never saw the appeal of Star Wars. That's how it goes.

I'll also have to agree to disagree on Luke not having character development, because I thought he did over the course of the movie. I saw that interview too, but wasn't the exact one I was referring to.

Luke struggled to believe in his powers. Rey was all in with it. I see no problem with it. Again on the agree to disagree I guess.

I am in the same boat as Slaughter, I think. I overall enjoyed the first 6 movies. I'll be damned if it's even close to an all-time great movie franchise, though. Doesn't even go near my top ten. Pretty cool franchise, I reckon. But holy fuck, everyone on the planet needs to calm the fuck down about Star Wars. Lol. I think a lot of people are trying really hard to love the Star Wars franchise, because it's the IN thing to do (not accusing anyone here of such).

I've not seen any after Sith was released. Partly because of a lack of interest, the other part is because people intentionally go around social media spoiling it. Judging from trailers and clips of the newer ones, I'm not seeing anything different than bland Hollywood spectacles with nerdy fight scenes and cool FX bro.

i was big into star wars growing up. i really liked the original trilogy. for some reason i even liked phantom menace at the time. but along the way, it really lost the luster for me. i really hadn't watched them at all, between like 2002-ish til when the force awakens came out on dvd. rogue one kind of re-ignited my interest though. it really surprised me.

but as for favorite movie franchise, not to me. not even discounting horror.

i haven't seen last jedi yet, so didn't go that far into the video. but that guy gets rogue one and how it affects a new hope wrong. galen urso does not take away from luke skywalker. he still did something that only he could do. the other rebels couldn't get it. it had to be luke (or i guess another jedi, but luke was the one there). galen urso built a flaw, but it took luke to act on that flaw. that does not make luke's victory meaningless or less special in any way. rogue one does not "take apart or destroy" a new hope.
