Re: Life in California
And it's not just that Jason so consistently talks out of his ass about politics all the time, he shoves his delusional views in everyone's faces in the most aggressive ways possible and views every challenge to his nonsense as an affront to the idea of absolute truth.
Usually nut jobs just go on weird, open ended indirect tangents, easily ignored. Jason is more about getting in your face and screaming nonsense. Imagine a group of flat earthers who don't just hide in weird corners of the internet but go out in public and shout from street corners, targeting bystanders with their rants. It's just an interesting dynamic.

that's how it goes on the internet, right or left. the most vocal, loudest voices, are often the most extreme and confrontational as well. it's not enough that they believe this way, you have to believe this way too, or else you're garbage.Headhunter wrote:And it's not just that Jason so consistently talks out of his ass about politics all the time, he shoves his delusional views in everyone's faces in the most aggressive ways possible and views every challenge to his nonsense as an affront to the idea of absolute truth.

and i don't think jason actually feels that way. he just gets caught up in his thoughts and bias, and that's how it comes across. he doesn't do any favors with all of his "cuck" stuff though.

Idk I would think someone with such shall we say...unconventional...views would be a little softer in their approach. I mean, everyone but them is brainwashed, right? So why would you be so fired up that everyone else doesn't recognize the absolute objective truth you preach? We can't help it, the globalists programmed us to know nothing.zombie wrote:that's how it goes on the internet, right or left. the most vocal, loudest voices, are often the most extreme and confrontational as well. it's not enough that they believe this way, you have to believe this way too, or else you're garbage.Headhunter wrote:And it's not just that Jason so consistently talks out of his ass about politics all the time, he shoves his delusional views in everyone's faces in the most aggressive ways possible and views every challenge to his nonsense as an affront to the idea of absolute truth.

It should be noted, by the way, that Jason's meltdown in the last two days was prompted by being clowned for peddling fake news (which he's now done several times). Let's not bury the lede.

"softer in their approach" requires some kind of reason or rationality or awareness. "everyone else is brainwashed" would tend to throw that out of the window, seemingly.Headhunter wrote: Idk I would think someone with such shall we say...unconventional...views would be a little softer in their approach. Fair. I usually characterize the conspiracy crowd as being more willing to stay in the shadows though. It is usually the more traditional far left/far right archetypes who beat the same dead horses over and over again who tend to be the most aggressive. Foo and Seb are far right/left enough to fit that dynamic but both are so rational and down-to-earth in how they approach this stuff, it's kinda funny. Meanwhile our boy Jason is flinging poo from outer space.zombie wrote:"softer in their approach" requires some kind of reason or rationality or awareness. how do you mean down to earth? seb and foo can get caught up in their politics too, and lose sight of things a little bit. foo, more than seb, but yeah.Headhunter wrote:Fair. Head uses this section to condescendingly whine about me without adding any relevance to the discussion, in case you haven't noticed. 4 pages of being triggered in this thread alone.

The premise of your thread was fake news. I've pointed that out on multiple occasions. What other angle did you want me to dissect your inability to share a truthful story from?Jason wrote:Head uses this section to condescendingly whine about me without adding any relevance to the discussion, in case you haven't noticed. 4 pages of being triggered in this thread alone.

I think Foo just plays games and gets people going in circles with semantics, but to be honest most people do that in political discussions. He is cool headed about things. With Jason, everyone is a "retard" and it's always 100% aggressive and all over the place. I mean, just take a look at that crazy post in the SCOTUS thread. What is going on there? Looney tunes stuff.zombie wrote:how do you mean down to earth? seb and foo can get caught up in their politics too, and lose sight of things a little bit. foo, more than seb, but yeah.Headhunter wrote:Fair. Re: Life in California
yeah, foo plays games. tries to trip you up. put you into a certain box. etc. to try to win his argument. i don't like that approach. it shouldn't be about winning an argument. but moreso about changing a mind, if you feel they are wrong. and being open to having your mind changed, if you're wrong. at least that's how i feel about it. but yeah, you're right. most often in political discussions it just amounts to going back and forth in circles.Headhunter wrote: I think Foo just plays games and gets people going in circles with semantics, but to be honest most people do that in political discussions. i don't know what to make of that post, honestly, but i also don't think that it is the standard for jason. it's an odd post here, or there, unless i'm just overlooking it when it happens more often.

Re: Life in California
His posts are usually more coherent so it is different in that sense, but it does illustrate a few common themes. With Jason, everything is black and white. Total extremes all the time, no gray areas, everything must be reduced to the lowest common denominator. The pushy, aggressive nature. Leading question after leading question. It's not so much your average case of creating and deconstructing a straw man as it is angrily beating the shit out of a straw man.zombie wrote:yeah, foo plays games. tries to trip you up. put you into a certain box. etc. to try to win his argument. i don't like that approach. it shouldn't be about winning an argument. but moreso about changing a mind, if you feel they are wrong. and being open to having your mind changed, if you're wrong. at least that's how i feel about it. but yeah, you're right. most often in political discussions it just amounts to going back and forth in circles.Headhunter wrote: I think Foo just plays games and gets people going in circles with semantics, but to be honest most people do that in political discussions. Re: Life in California
I also love it when Jason talks about leftist politics, he knows nothing. "Socialists vote for Democrats," or "socialists overwhelmingly supported Sanders." Both bullshit positions that show he doesn't know a thing about what actual progressives and leftists think about this kind of stuff.

Re: Life in California
maybe so. but he also has a more raw deal, than most of the rest of us seem to. and that isn't a defense or justification. but moreso, just trying to understand where his head is at.Headhunter wrote: His posts are usually more coherent so it is different in that sense, but it does illustrate a few common themes. Re: Life in California
That's another point worth illustrating. It's "liberal" this, "socialist" that, "lefty" this etc. None of these things are distinct ideas carrying any meanings, they are just buzz words he associates with "stupidity". There is no depth to any of it.Jigsaw wrote:I also love it when Jason talks about leftist politics, he knows nothing. Oh, sure. Your experiences in the world necessarily play a role in how your ideology develops. But that shouldn't mean limiting your worldview to a totally myopic state, where the only evidence you ever need comes from personal anecdotes. They should be a piece of the puzzle, not the whole thing. Certainly not at the expense of acknowledging hard data, research beyond your expertise etc.zombie wrote:maybe so. but he also has a more raw deal, than most of the rest of us seem to. and that isn't a defense or justification. but moreso, just trying to understand where his head is at.Headhunter wrote: His posts are usually more coherent so it is different in that sense, but it does illustrate a few common themes. no, you're right that your experiences should not be the end all be all of your world view. it can be just hard to look past, with certain circumstances. jason should try. but it's not worth picking him apart as a person. i think that will just make him more embittered or more biased. and he shouldn't pick you apart as a person either, so much. i see that tendency with the both of you in particular for some reason.Headhunter wrote: Oh, sure. I'm not picking him apart as a person, though. Your politics, or even how you express them, are not the end all, be all of your character.zombie wrote:no, you're right that your experiences should not be the end all be all of your world view. it can be just hard to look past, with certain circumstances. jason should try. but it's not worth picking him apart as a person. i think that will just make him more embittered or more biased. and he shouldn't pick you apart as a person either, so much. i see that tendency with the both of you in particular for some reason.Headhunter wrote: Oh, sure.
