Re: Venom
Interested, but bummed at the same time. I mean, it's pointless if it's not connected to Spider-man. And the plot seems on the generic side, like it was rushed (no surprise).
But Tom arguing with himself and culminating into "We Are Venom" is goddamn sweet.
Rumor has it that Woody Harrelson is in it as Cletus Cassidy. That's pretty inspired.

Re: Venom
i kind of feel like the no spiderman thing could be a misdirect. like i'm sure he won't have a huge presence, maybe even no tom holland. but there is probably gonna be some kind of mention. or some way to tie into that.
though it does come after infinity war, so maybe something happens there with spidey getting the symbiote and they didn't want to let on to that, so they just played off like it had no connection at all.... but that's just huge speculation.

One can hope. But it is straight-up Sony...so I'll stay suspicious.zombie wrote:i kind of feel like the no spiderman thing could be a misdirect. like i'm sure he won't have a huge presence, maybe even no tom holland. but there is probably gonna be some kind of mention. or some way to tie into that.

Re: Venom
He looks and sounds cool, but that's about it. No spider emblem on the chest pretty much secures the "no connection to Spiderman" suspicion...ugh.
Re: Venom
Yeah, I don't know about this one. No Spidey ties, so the suit's wrong, different origin, different direction. Yes, it carries elements of Venom's solo series, Life Foundation, other symbiotes, which should be his children, not separate entities. No hint of Carnage. And Sony's history of screwing things up, like Spidey 3 and Amazing 2, well, I will hold judgment til the final product, but not off to a good start.

I didn't see the movie, but I'm under the impression Carnage was hinted at during the end credits with none other than Woody Harrelson.dave626 wrote:Yeah, I don't know about this one. Re: Venom
Probably Spider-man's most dangerous villain, a spawn from Venom, but so nasty Venom actually turned anti-hero to team up with Spidey to beat him during an epic Maximum Carnage run in the 90's, before the Spidey books went to shit.showa58taro wrote:Who

Yup. Director said he didn't want to blow his load by having Carnage be in the first film, so they set him up for the sequel.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:I didn't see the movie, but I'm under the impression Carnage was hinted at during the end credits with none other than Woody Harrelson.

Re: Venom
I'm glad the rumors were true though, I love the idea of Woody as Cletus.
