Reality Bites.
I love to hate this movie. Super rewatchable, but I REALLY hate our "protagonists" as people lol.

Would did you think? I recently tried to rewatch this too, and I loved it as a teen/early 20's, now I couldn't even finish it.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery

Still dug it, but I've always preferred The Spy Who Shagged Me.Reign in Blood wrote:Would did you think? I recently tried to rewatch this too, and I loved it as a teen/early 20's, now I couldn't even finish it.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery
I was thinking though, that the first two are easily movies that could be thrown in a pile of "couldn't be made today because of crybabies." Hell, Austin would be considered a Sex Offender because he kept pursuing Vanessa after she told him "no".

Yeah that Toxic Masculinity thing. Such a sad state the way things are now.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Reign in Blood wrote:Would did you think? Re: What are you watching?
i don't think austin powers would get knocked for that, if only, because it was a comedic jab at bond's womanizing. but i can concede that it could possibly fall into "not be made today" territory.

Tropic Thunder couldn't be made today and that was only 10 years ago.
Re: What are you watching?
Austin Powers would also get shit for making the woman appear weak for giving in to Austin's mojo, baby. "When a woman says no, she means it!"
Yeah...
Yeah...

I do think it's weird to pursue women after they turn you down. Even if they change their mind, it ain't the same and their natural inclination was that they weren't into you. Keep it moving, fellas.

How is it okay for you to keep pestering a woman for a date after she told you 'no'? Have some respect for the decision and leave the woman alone.Tiggnutz wrote:Yeah that Toxic Masculinity thing. I don't see how increasing the respect we have for the opposite gender is anything to be ashamed of, but then again, I am a proud feminist, so maybe I'll just never understand this "man's man/alpha male" bullshit.

You can have respect for women, but the left do the pussy-on-a-pedestal thing and crank the volume all the way to max where it's like "Hey, you know what, we men are just inferior to you wimmens on every aspect. Please fuck me" kinda thing.
Bill Burr touched base pretty good on it. lol. The fuckin' breakfast story is hilarious.
1:07 is where the interview really starts.

I'm on the far left, I'm a feminist, and I don't think I'm inferior to women.
Sorry.
