If they're unreported/untold, where are you getting the numbers?
Unreported =/= untold. Report suggests to authorities. It’s not an exact science, but there is a lot of research on the subject.
Ya know, fair enough with that, I linked zombs to a sickening story that was told but left by the wayside because of fucked-ness.

There’s awful stories in both directions. There’s some awful stories. The hashtag #WhyIDidntReport is awful to read on Twitter. So many horror stories.

Will share another story. Had a caregiver for my aunt who stole from me. I discovered not only that she was taking money to watch her and then leaving, but she also stole cash and watches. Cash was probably a couple hundred and retail value on the watches was maybe $2k.

Because I had no evidence of the thefts but only that she was not watching my aunt, I let her go. It was a pointless endeavor to go to the police or slander her throughout the community because I had not evidence. Sometimes people are wronged and get no recourse because they lack evidence. The alternative is witch trials.

Nothing ever happened to me that bore this much on me. But when would you speak up if you hadn’t nearly on. Randomly, or when it mattered and the injustice felt the most accute.

The story here is that rape and sexual assault is way more prevalent than we as men perceive and are aware of.

In 6th grade, there was a male teacher that would uncomfortably rub my shoulders a lot. That's the closest I've got. There were plenty of witnesses though, I mean I was mocked for it for cryin' out loud.

What I find interesting, is where are the accusations on major musicians? Not talking the R. Kelly's or some shit that are known scum. From the 60's and beyond, you know the groupies and shiz were treated like crap, and modern rappers to their groupies etc. How wrestlers treated ring rats, and even fellow women wrestlers is known lore. That penny hasn't dropped.

no one here is advocating witch hunts or witch trials. but so you came forward and ultimately couldn't prove it. does that mean that we should start to doubt and question anyone else who comes forward with an accusation of theft? or should we leave it to the authorities to investigate and err on the side of believing that they were wronged or violated, as friends/family without pointing fingers at the accused (until it's proven or dis-proven)?

The guy was eventually killed by a kid he was molesting. It was kept all hush hush.
Obviously your case is legitimate, but there is an epidemic of disgusting human beings (mostly women) who jump at the opportunity in a heartbeat to ruin the life of someone because they have a chance at a decent pay day even though it was all consensual or it never even fucking happened at all. They are just as bad as the rapists.

Nobody wants to outlaw lascivious behavior. There’s every chance done shady shit exists, but also some of it is pure consensual stuff.

I am saying that without evidence, people can get away with things, and that is just part of the system. It is a very dangerous precedent we are setting by prosecuting without evidence.

The consequences for most of this has been private, not prosecutions.

I've seen memes being made dragging Elvis and Steven Tyler through the mud as pedophile groomers.
