The game-changing rock bands always brought new demographics into the scene. Hippies, bikers, metalheads, freaks. I don't think Greta is doing any of that. They are a throwback for classic rock fans. Young people aren't getting into rock because of them.

And to be clear, I'm not bagging them, they're doing exactly what they should be doing. Ain't no new headliners, you gotta find a niche and exploit it to death. If you have Robert Plant's voice, there's your lane.

This happened with a lot of music in the 70's. Rush was called a Led Zeppelin ripoff. If you listen to songs off their debut album (Working Man, Finding My Way) they were a lot more harder rock than they're now known for. Billy Squier was accused of ripping off Robert Plant, too.

I hear Robert Plant in Josh Kiszka. I also hear Geddy Lee, Ann Wilson, Janis Joplin, etc...

Billy Squier aged like a turd on summer asphalt. That scene in Billy Madison was perfect.

I'm just generally a Billy Squier hater, I will make no concessions. He is my enemy.
