If you are trying to enter a restroom and I hold onto the door as you are attempting to open it, intentionally, are you aware that is a possible crime? Would you care to take a guess as to what category of crime that would fall into? I am looking for real charges, not the fictional "being a jerk".

if acosta committed a crime, then have him arrested. as it is, he's banned (unless they backed down, which i've heard) for refusing to give up the microphone. that's where the focus should be, unless he actually committed a crime?

Why are you avoiding the question?

Are you aware an assault can occur without touching?

Also, Acosta was not banned. He had his hard pass revoked.

no, i wasn't aware of that, unless you mean verbal assault. assault is a crime though, hence my last post.

There are many levels of assault, and many do not rise to the criminal level. I would hope you don't think civilized people have to call the police and file charges over everything. His assault was obviously low level, and they felt they could apply a punishment by restricting his access, which they did. Why anyone is crying about this is beyond me.

The guy is unprofessional and does not understand the rules or decorum of the job. The White House press corps covers the president, they are not there for opinions and commentary. If you notice, guys like Hannity and Carlson are not in that room. Why CNN would choose to send such a person does say a lot about how far they have fallen.

you're the one that tried to make about a crime. i said he acted like a jerk, in not giving up the microphone. and so he got banned from the corp. or got his pass revoked, whichever. i wasn't "crying" about that. just call it what it is. no need to play outrage games.

Good on the NYPost article. Only in a world this sick, would peo.. liberals defend Acosta's actions and make a debate out of it.

:P we should only defend such actions, as carried out by conservatives or encouraged by conservatives.

"Jerk" is not a legal term and describes his personality not his actions. I never said it was a crime, in fact I made it quite clear it was not even though it was likely a form of assault.

Because there were claims that Acosta's actions were not as they were being described. In fact, they were accurately described.

"you're being a jerk" denotes behavior, or action. "you are a jerk" denotes personality. so, no i don't.

legally, he committed assault by refusing to give up the microphone. fair. just call it what it is and don't make it into something bigger for purposes of outrage.
