Add 2 fingers of Hellraiser, a shot of Charles Manson and his Manson family, a splash of your favorite revenge film from the late 70's and garnish with a few tabs of LSD . This concoction would give you Mandy. A throwback to late 70's early 80's B-movie revenge films that you would find playing at your local grindhouse theatres. Director and co-writer Panos Cosmatos was clearly a fan of these films and Mandy is his homage. Other lesser directors fail when making a film with a hodge podge of their favorite films (looking at you Rob) but Panos blends them perfectly. A very good cast is topped by an excellent Nic Cage who seems to bloom in these type roles. The sound created by the late Johann Johannsson is fantastic. It's a trippy fun ride from start to finish so enjoy. B+
