there is room to talk about both. obviously the coastguard thing should be the bigger concern. glad that it got thwarted, and hopefully he doesn't get the opportunity to do anything like that again, now.
This story is being used as a tool to discredit the idea that hate crimes exist, not unlike the way conservatives use false rape accusations as a tool to discredit all women.
