For the most part I've liked the new franchise but this looks absolutely horrible.

So, I've gotten past the recent superhero movie fatigue but is the endgame here to just have these franchises exist forever? Just keep going and going?

I don't think the X-men ever got a proper depiction and almost every single X-men movie to date is more about Magneto than the actual X-men. I just think there is a great story to tell about them that hasn't been told yet.

The Last Stand is still the most disappointing comic movie ever for me, edging out Spider-Man 3 (which by a few months out I think most of us saw the iceberg approaching and were ready). Unbelievable how shitty it was.

Days of Future Past was supposed to "fix" things from continuity like Last Stand, so yeah.

However, they're still dicking around and I'm just waiting for Marvel to officially take over. Luckily Logan was excellent, so they weren't all crap at the end there.

It's possible Deadpool is loosely in the MCU already though, thanks to the nods to the Helicarrier in the first movie, and his loose breaking the fourth wall usage allowing him to reference the Fox-men at the same time.
