Kayak is a charitable sonofabitch, isn't he. You tell that motherfucker give to the church, he'll kill Mother Teresa and the Pope just to fix a raggedy old pew leg.

LeBron originally wanted PG, then pivoted to Kawhi. Anthony Davis was always going to be the other piece. Getting both and killing LeBron's big three is pretty legendary. And both from Southern California.
Nets and Clippers owning the offseason and crushing the big brothers in their cities. Kind of amazing.

I suspected some deep gang affiliation was at play for these shenanigans, all the LA hood roots flying about. Shame, sports like football and baseball have more sophisticated racketeers than the crips and bloods.

Also wild that Paul George re-signed with them just last summer and was BFFs with Russ and a year later he was ready to go. My god has OKC spread All Star players all over the league. Harden, KD, Oladipo and now Paul George. And honestly all four of those guys are much better players right now than Russ.

OKC is a cancer. Westbrook is never going to win anything.

Teams with assets to make slight upgrades should look to do so now. Denver and Portland are much closer than they were last year and should be all in.

I am like directly in between where Kawhi and Paul George are from. Like a 30 mile radius.
Re: NBA 2018-2019
I'm obviously rooting for Denver, and any other team that isn't big market monopoly, BS. Will root for Clips over Lakes if it came to it. GS reign of terror is over.

The Warriors will still have the best lineup anyone can put together when Klay is healthy but if Draymond causes problems and Russell doesn't fit in, they may just implode. Five straight years of Finals runs also takes a physical toll.
Clippers have to be the favorites. Didn't lose much from a playoff roster and add two top 10 players. Unreal.

Not sure who's to blame for this, but they've really been playing with house money since KD left and it finally caught up to them. Presti turned water into wine turning Ibaka through proxy into Paul George. Their biggest fuck up in this entire run was enabling Westbrook at the expense of Durant. Everything should have been built around Kevin Durant. That, and trading Harden when they didn't need to made no sense.showa58taro wrote:OKC is a cancer. Westbrook is never going to win anything.
Tough to see that much talent come through one franchise in all this time and they only made one Finals run.

Yup. Sad times for their fans.
Re: NBA 2018-2019
I'm trying to focus on the positive. Like Head pointed out, there's no clear front runner. Finally an unpredictable season. Thank God. Or Kawhi in this case.

Re: NBA 2018-2019
I think there are 10 teams that feel like they might have a shot. Sometimes you just have an odd year or two between dynasties where nobody's separated themselves and there's no clear favorite. The West could potentially have 7 really good teams.
The player movement is good for the league. Creates new contenders every few years. It'll never feel like the NFL in terms of year-to-year parity but more teams have a shot.

Oh and LA being a basketball town again is great. Now UCLA needs to get its shit together immediately. I'm two losses from calling for Rick Pitino tbh.

Is Kawhi a better GM than LeBron? Absolute gangster move getting George to just force his way out of a contract. LeBron's agency had to drain the Lakers' assets completely to land Anthony Davis.

Lakers add Boogie Cousins. Smart gamble at this stage.

They have to do something at this point. Not sure what else they can fill out the roster with going forward.

Yeah, waiting on Kawhi dried up the market for role players and they have no trade assets.showa58taro wrote:They have to do something at this point. Not sure what else they can fill out the roster with going forward.
