Underrated film. Bill, aka Cliff from Cheers, was fucking brilliant in that.Ava wrote:House II: The Second story

Re: What are you watching?
Felt like watching another ghetto trash school movie from the 80's.

Have you seen To Sir, With Love?

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
Pretty darn good show. I assumed it would be a cgi fest but it's really not. If you like the movie, you'll like this. Feels very much the same.

Never fell in love with The Dark Crystal. Technically, it's a production marvel, but it's story and characters were always dull to me. I usually felt like the black sheep in my nerd circles with that opinion though.

Re: What are you watching?
The story of the Dark Crystal is kind of a mess, so don't feel bad. When you're a kid, you tend to not notice all the plot holes and whatnot, but if you watch it now? Makes no sense. I still enjoy it because of nostalgia if nothing else.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Never fell in love with The Dark Crystal. Re: What are you watching?
i never got into the dark crystal, although i feel like i should have. i blame it on the lack of human characters and just muppets and such. but that may just be an excuse, i don't know.
Re: What are you watching?
The series does a better job telling its story and I like all the new characters. The movie has that all important nostalgic value so I'm not gonna say I like the series more, but I probably would if I were just now seeing them both for the first time.

Monsters
TV show from 1988-1991. USA's answer to Tales From The Crypt basically, but just before TofC aired. From the same producer of Tales from the Darkside and a few George Romero projects...only the low budget is EXTEMELY obvious and most episodes do kinda suck.

Watched I, Tonya. That was a very interesting film. Didn’t know much about it but as told it certainly plays out as much more of a tragedy than I expected, and I think the interview style shots were fascinating. Very impressive.
Decided to end the evening with the new Netflix film out today, Tall Girl. The premise that a Swede comes in amused me until they have him “speak Swedish” and it’s fucking awful. Not even close to a word right. Brutal.

For a fan film it was decent. Very Jason Lives-inspired heavy though, but at least unlike Jason Lives, there are titties.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Friday the 13th: Vengeance

True Detective - Season 3, episode 5.
Shaping up quite nicely. And that Sarah Gadon girl is really cute. Don't believe I've seen her in anything before.
