There was a great thing the other day. There was a leak that he called the House bill "Mean, mean, mean" which doesn't really help passing it. But instead of denying it or just ignoring that, and trying to support the bill, in an interview someone asked him about the new Senate bill being mean and he said something like "They're using my words now! I said it was mean" or something like that. LIke... what are you doing! Same with the Jim Comey testimony where he said repeatedly that Trump has lied and is lying on key parts, that there is Russian interference with the US electoral process, and all sorts of other damning things, and he said he pretended there were tapes to make him tell the truth. And the interviewer says "IT was quite smart then to get him to tell the truth" and he says "Well, it wasn't very stupid I can tell you that"... but in fact, it is exactly that. VERY stupid. You're saying you can't disprove the statements made, but that you believe the statements (that were very bad for you and your image) were true because you bluffed.

The guy inherited a gigantic fortune and has kept that fortune despite some terrible decisions (Mail order steaks anyone. Trump airlines? Trump insurance? Trump Vodka) and some bankruptcies. Is he entertaining, sure. He's a big personality who can afford to buy himself a seat at most tables. And he's visibly a bully, which for a negotiation might well work. But it clearly doesn't work as a politician. Why is that so hard to see?
