Trump can't stop winning!

It will get heated. Can't take it, don't open the forum.

Namely him being a pompous asshole is what gets him into some stupid statements and situations.
Sure, but it is also what got him to where he is. He is at the absolute top.

It would be like telling Babe Ruth to stop eating hot dogs and drinking beer so he can become a better ballplayer. People used to tell Ted Williams to swing the bat more.

have you ever been critical of an actor or director or singer? yes. :P does that mean you could do their job better than they did? no. :P

Critical of your erroneous characterization of the man as a God of Business and legend in showbiz.
30 years ago the guy was a best selling author, who wrote one of the top ten books on the subject of business. What have you done?
Audited billions. :)
There you go. I mean, we all know that all the critics are really so much smarter, and could be everything Trump is if they just had a rich daddy or didn't prefer spending their free time traveling or in bars. Everyone is amazing.
The guy inherited a gigantic fortune and has kept that fortune despite some terrible decisions (Mail order steaks anyone. Trump airlines? Trump insurance? Trump Vodka) and some bankruptcies. Is he entertaining, sure. He's a big personality who can afford to buy himself a seat at most tables. And he's visibly a bully, which for a negotiation might well work. But it clearly doesn't work as a politician. Why is that so hard to see?
He is the president of the US. Clearly it works.

His father died in 1999. He wrote the art of the deal in 1987. Trump definitely benefited from having a rich daddy, but Trump himself was a large part of the company's growth.

Do you know what a branding agreement is? How much money would it take to put your name on a good product?

Do I claim I could do it better? Or am I simply critiquing the art? Critique is as much a part of art as the act of creating it.

do you have to be more successful, or more powerful, to be critical of that person? really?
I think some level of success helps with perspective. Anybody who has ever been out there in the public sphere knows what it is like dealing with people who have never done anything of note yet have all the answers.

Seb does sometimes think these things. But not always. Seb thinks he's a pretty decent guy. :)

again, criticism doesn't have to come from those that have attained the success or power that the subject of that criticism has attained, in order to be valid.

Earlier today someone was bitching at me because the food truck does not take phone in orders. This person was going on and on about how much money I was losing and how much better it would be. If this person has never run a business, let alone a business like mine, is her criticism valid?

How about when a person goes into a grocery store and complains about the prices? Our about not enough open registers?

Political success is more subjective than running a successful business though.

In fact, it almost never fails. When you do something ambitious, the criticism rarely comes from others who have done ambitious things, but from the couch potatoes who never will.

As a politician, how many greater successes are there than becoming president? You have been elected to the highest office and have opportunity to shape the country like no other.

it wouldn't be as valid as someone in your field, or a similar one. but we are also not giving advice or complaints directly to donald trump about his day to day. we are stating our opinions on him and his actions and his legislation and such.

It is the highest objective victory. Considering people were organizing protests and preaching resistance before he even took office, some of this subjective criticism is hard to take seriously.

So let's take the health care bill is an example. What percentage who disapprove have read it? What percentage have even read a full summary? What percentage have any idea about procedures required to pass it? What percentage even have a elementary understanding of how insurance works?

I would say you would be incredibly optimistic to put that number at 1%. Yet, before it was even introduced protests were organizing.

Valid criticism? Or more like a person criticizing a movie they have never watched or a painting they have never viewed?

i see criticizing the bill before it's passed, as akin to bashing a movie without seeing it. you can criticize elements you think would end up being bad, and we do all the time with movies. :P

it seemed earlier that you were calling us out as not having been successful presidents or actors, businessmen. etc. so stop criticizing trump altogether.

There is a difference between discussing what you feel is good or bad policy, and calling the president stupid and such. You cannot reach those heights being stupid.
