Schools closing lots of places. Not UK though, yet. Odd as most other countries including Ireland are shutting up shop. I reckon it’s a matter of days before they call it over here too and shut down schools and offices.

Golden Chopstix!

I went a week or so ago. Ironically, I had never seen the place as busy as it was.

Edit: Also, to address what I meant yesterday about disrespect. I could've responded to your post the way you've been responding to me. "Trump is responsible. He should've known how serious this was!" ... several posts later ... "Go out in public during this pandemic and eat Chinese food!"

38% of nurses have kids in school in the U.S.. There are debates about shutting down certain schools here.

Oh lord. I know I’ve given you this lecture before. First of all, had you responded that way, that’s great. Really don’t care. But if you weren’t going to say it, you weren’t going to say it. Holding it over my head after the fact as some moral high ground just makes you look worse.

Bitch about me, mock me etc. if you must. Or don’t. Either is just fine. But please spare us all the “Look at me!” self-righteousness. It is truly nauseating.

I'd rather we not argue like five year olds when we're in this thread. That's all.

The outcomes continue to look bleak as fuck for lots of areas now. Really high mortality rate and higher contagion risk. Guessing that working from home is around the corner from me.

Tory government is being particularly inept and struggling to handle themselves. Elect a clown, expect a circus.

Guessing schools close soon after all and I’ll just stay home with Ceri and the kids as they seek to slow this down and work out a better plan.

Seems noteworthy that Trump fired the pandemic response team a couple years ago to cut costs and never replaced them.

Trump has fucked this up in so many ways it’s almost incomprehensible.

Every government is underreporting. I can understand this. Global panic is worse than the virus itself. The real culprit here is obviously China, and for me, the WHO should've issued a pandemic a month ago. It's pathetic that I, a layperson, recognized this was a pandemic weeks before they announced it. I get to avoid maniacal traffic and food shortages now if the shit hits the fan.

Stock up, brother! :)

The failures are both short term and long term with cuts to everything that would now be useful, inaction when action was needed and failure to use the time given widely. Such a wholesale mess which would be fine if it didn’t likely mean millions infected and thousands dying. This idea too of him postponing action to limit the spread because it would invalidate his claim this is just like the flu and to keep calm is so asinine it defies belief. Latest is they won’t do anything until Jared finishes his book report on COVID-19

Global panic is not worse than mass deaths. That’s the Trump line and won’t solve anything.

And yeah, wanting to keep people on the cruises in order to artificially keep those numbers low is the perfect encapsulation for how out of depth Trump is in dealing with this. Never mind how morally beyond the pale it is.
