That's a pretty promising endorsement of this medication from a certified medical professional with a 100% success rate on all of his patients to combat coronavirus.
These are dangerous times, indeed. I would've instantly become an Obama fan if the roles were reversed. Being stubborn in this pandemic is an awful mindset right now.

Notice how everything I just stated was ignored, zomb? Lol. "He's killing people! I bet he owns hydroxychloroquine stock!" At least with my guarded approach to these discussions, I am less likely to be labeled a bigot and more likely to be ignored. I prefer option two.

well, "orange man bad" or "white guilt" or any such dismissal is only going to escalate things. and this isn't new. i just want you to see it for what it is. if you have a problem with others doing it to you, doing it to them isn't the way to make it stop. so just be aware that you've done the same things for a long time that you consider to be disrespect from others.Jason wrote: I've avoided the "you-get-what-you-give" attitude, but that only opens the floodgates of labeling me a racist or xenophobe. Correct. I acknowledged this in the next post. But this isn't about me. Hydroxychloroquine is getting incredibly promising endorsements from certified doctors who are battling this disease. If Trump never said anything about hydroxychloroquine and only the doctors were saying it, people would be ecstatic about it. But there is an undeniable pattern of stubbornness from people who will absolutely never agree with anything Trump says. They will go to the grave, ignoring sound medical advice simply because they heard Trump say it first. We need to stop being children.zombie wrote:well, "orange man bad" or "white guilt" or any such dismissal is only going to escalate things. and this isn't new. i just want you to see it for what it is. if you have a problem with others doing it to you, doing it to them isn't the way to make it stop. so just be aware that you've done the same things for a long time that you consider to be disrespect from others.Jason wrote: I've avoided the "you-get-what-you-give" attitude, but that only opens the floodgates of labeling me a racist or xenophobe. if it as so promising, then it will get certification as a medication against the coronavirus and widespread use. yes, we would be more open to doctors recommending it because they are doctors!Jason wrote:Correct. last i heard, it was not certified. can you give a source?
Re: Random Political Comments
The FDA has not looked into it and labeled it a Covid treatment yet, if that's what you mean. Doctors everywhere are prescribing it with a zinc supplement and it is working wonders for everyone. This is why Head's friend said the pharmacy was out of it. And this is why doctors are saying the hydroxychloroquine needs to be reserved for the Covid sufferers who are very ill, because there is a risk of running low on the stuff.
But hydroxychloroquine is now a proven method to combating the virus, it just needs a zinc supplement to combine it with, which effectively stops the virus from replicating in the body.

Also, the WHO advised Trump in January not to close borders, because the virus is not contagious. It's a damn good thing he ignored those morons.
Re: Random Political Comments
people are scared. the president gave a suggestion. and thus a run on the drug. that is why the shelves were empty, in head's anecdote. we'll have to see what comes with this, ultimately. but make no mistake, this is playing with fire, until we actually know that it works across the board.
if it does work, then the coronavirus is over and beaten, and we don't have to worry about anyone's cuisine choices.

Re: Random Political Comments
Doctors have to prescribe the drug. You can't just get it without a doctor's endorsement. It is flying off the shelves because it's working. Now is the time to step back and only prescribe it to patients who are very ill so we can avoid blowing through our supplies. That's how effective it is.zombie wrote:people are scared. the president gave a suggestion. and thus a run on the drug. that is why the shelves were empty, in head's anecdote. we'll have to see what comes with this, ultimately. but make no mistake, this is playing with fire, until we actually know that it works across the board.

Until a new strain mutates that has a 50% kill rate. China needs to stop eating road kill. The fact we're living under quarantine in the middle of a pandemic because of China and you're not bothered by them continuing the ritual that caused it is bizarre. THIS is playing with fire.

i just see the history. eating bats has been linked to other viruses. we've beaten them. if you're right, we're beating the coronavirus. china is not the only one to eat bats or "road kill" either. so if that is indeed the cause and we haven't beaten the virus or if there is solid evidence to suggest that covid will mutate, do something about it worldwide, including china.

Proven is not the word for this.

agreed. clinical tests are there for a reason. you need to take into account other things, beyond this random patient took it and looks to be on the mend.showa58taro wrote:Proven is not the word for this.

You're also not surrounded by a team of medical professionals. You think Trump just thunk up hydroxychloroquine the other day and decided to advise the rest of the medical world to look into it? All the viruses are linked to China. Specifically the wet markets. Specifically in Wigan. Spanish Flu, bird flu, Sars, ebola... All linked to China's wet markets.

Not patient, *patients. If doctors are swearing by this, fully endorsing it, and now reserving the supply for the very ill because they don't want to blow through the entire medical supply of the drug, it is clearly working at a wonderfully promising rate.zombie wrote:agreed. clinical tests are there for a reason. you need to take into account other things, beyond this random patient took it and looks to be on the mend.showa58taro wrote:Proven is not the word for this.

he didn't just recommend it to doctors or the medical world. that would have been cool. i wouldn't have even heard about it, really. either. let's don't make this about the person that gave the advice. but the advice given.Jason wrote:You're also not surrounded by a team of medical professionals.
