Coronavirus task force! Ok? This bad boy coordinates and oversees the Administration's efforts to monitor, prevent, contain, and mitigate the spread of the Kung Flu! Trump implemented it after the travel ban. Since implementing it, he has continuously been adding more and more people to the force. This includes all of February and all of March. Among those included, just to name a few, are the Surgeon General, the Head Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Director of the United States Office of Science and Technology, the Head of the National Economic Counsil, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Administrator of the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services, among many others.
He implemented this task force when China and the WHO lied to him and advised him to ignore the virus. Yet, he continued to take preventative measures and create this task force despite their corruption and ineptitude.
Now go ahead and make up another false "yeah, but" scenario to rebut that.

We've taken shelter, taken drastic measures against the disease thanks to your orange man, yet, the tornado finds a way inside somehow. Odd. People need food, people need supplies, people need to work, thus, we step into the wind. The virus was not only spreading, but increased at a faster rate for more than a month after quarantine. It will continue to spread possibly forever thanks to these measures which could make it endemic. Would you rather 1) let it burn through quicker and become obsolete, but hospitals are overrun, resulting in more deaths in a shorter period of time. 2) Quarantine, slow the curve, further damage the world economy and increase the risk of this disease becoming endemic when we aren't expected to have a vaccine for at least one or two years, likely resulting in far more deaths long term than option one.showa58taro wrote:If only there was some way to mitigate the effects of wind on a population. do we even know for sure that option 1 would actually go that way? or is it just speculation based on some findings?Jason wrote:

and honestly, it looks like we have a little bit of both going on. with premature opening up some areas, while others are still quarantining. yay.

We don't know that. We also don't know how long Option 2 plays out for. We do know the effects that a ton of people dying all at once has on an economy, and it's bad.zombie wrote:do we even know for sure that option 1 would actually go that way? or is it just speculation based on some findings?Jason wrote:

That was a mic drop like Nordberg dropped the mic on these bad guys.
I mean you want to tell me that his achievement was assembling a group of people. None of whom did much to improve anything in the short, medium or long term. Hell even googling Trump Coronavirus Task Force achievements results in nothing but those daily propaganda sessions that are met with increasing incredulity.
They can't stop the wind. Just like Trump can't climb up the Twin Towers and swat planes out of the air. Any resulting spread is thanks to China... CHI-NA...
I've heard neither of you two criticize the WHO or China even once. This shows your bias and why it's impossible to have a meaningful discussion with you.
Me: The WHO didn't consider this a pandemic and China covered it up, resulting the shutdown of the entire world.
You: Yeah, but Trump!-
Me: Trump took preventative measures despite the WHO advising him that this virus is not contagious, yet he took preventative measures while Pelosi told everyone to come to Chinatown, Cuomo was telling people to ignore the virus and don't be afraid because of New York pride, and Italy was implementing "Spread the Virus" Day to own the Conservatives
You: Yeah, but TRUMP!-
Me: He put together a task force of the most qualified people in the world at learning about this disease and how to combat it, effectively, the majority of the things we now know about this virus are known because of the discoveries made by the people that make up the task force Trump himself created. Reminder, people like you called him racist for taking preventative measures against this disease resulting in saving potentially millions of lives.
You: bUt Jason, hE's oRaNgE!
That's how this conversation goes down, and believe me, I do enjoy derailing your nonsense on the daily basis, but Trump Derangement Syndrome is a more damaging disease to one's mental health than the coronavirus. I have formed my own task force (me), and I am here to help you with your issue if you just ask nicely.

Re: Random Political Comments
Why would we be focusing on China when the virus spread around the world long ago and measures could have been taken in this country to help mitigate that, but weren't? Again, there's nothing productive about scolding the arson while the fire is still ongoing. That's absolutely pointless.

Re: Random Political Comments
We do know that at almost absolute certainty. Prolonging it also increases the risk of the virus mutating (as it's still in its early stages) into a new strain that could wipe out 50% of the population. A long shot, highly unlikely, but a very real possibility. Pick your poison, and blame the responsible party, not Orange Man because you didn't like that he fired your favorite character on the Apprentice.zombie wrote:do we even know for sure that option 1 would actually go that way? or is it just speculation based on some findings?Jason wrote:

Re: Random Political Comments
I told you 100 times, already. China lied, people died. If they were honest about their findings, the spread of the virus could have been 95% prevented. And that is an actual measurement. Instead, they covered it up. The WHO is in their back pocket, and THEY covered it up. Guess it took preventative measures anyway? Still not a single preventative measure Jason can account for between February and mid March. Because there weren't any. Which has resulted in thousands of deaths.

No matter how many times you repeat yourself, scolding the arson while the fire is ongoing is still never going to be productive.
