Re: May the 4th 2020
How do you feel about the conservatives who tried to destroy liberals’ careers in Hollywood in the 40s and 50s, Jason?

I literally said opposing ideologies are silenced today. That is a problem.Headhunter wrote:It’s funny that you think you can compare when you literally said you couldn’t handle movies that don’t respect your politics.Jason wrote:The one time a Conservative movie exists. I literally said "Watching movies whose main plot is crying that white men exist is not interesting to me."

A man is murdered by a fellow military veteran with a severe case of PTSD who he was trying to help, and you shrug it off and attribute it to social darwinism.Headhunter wrote:How is it disgusting?Jason wrote:Well that's a pretty disgusting comment, but OK.Headhunter wrote:I wouldn’t celebrate it by any means but it’s a clear case of Social Darwinism.Jason wrote:It was.zombie wrote:that was a reach.Jason wrote:Yeah, you can't argue against American Sniper being a good movie. If we’re being real though, how much shit did Chris Kyle blatantly lie about? Jesse Ventura recently raked in a lot of money from the estate for lies Chris Kyle wrote about him.
Tragic when people die young, but he was kind of an asshole and seemingly a bit of a blowhard.

Very therapeutic, especially for military veterans. This guy was too far gone, unfortunately. But if that's the way you choose to see it, that's fine.Headhunter wrote:If I walked off a cliff and died, it would be sad. And also a great example of Social Darwinism.

Re: May the 4th 2020
What makes American Sniper with conservative ideology
? Because Kyle was a conservative? I'd say you can say Juno is a conservative themed movie. It has a pro life message and the teens being self sufficient.
As far as Clint Eastwood movies, his latest I've seen is Gran Torino. And it is a fave of mine. Not sure if it had conservative themes. Never thought about it. Seemed pretty neutral to me.

I listen to both sides, and there is no way of knowing what is true. The court ruled in favor of Ventura in 2017, but the money didn't come from the estate as far as I heard. I am not judging Ventura or Kyle, because I do not know the facts and am not going to be so quick to jump the gun.Headhunter wrote:If we’re being real though, how much shit did Chris Kyle blatantly lie about? Some movies made ten years ago would simply not be able to be made today.

There are strong indications that Chris Kyle lied about a lot of things in that book.Jason wrote:I listen to both sides, and there is no way of knowing what is true. Yeah, I havent seen American Sniper. I know military people who didn't like him though. I have no idea why. Never delved into it.
