To be honest, I don't think anything can be done. I will keep voting third party, because, like I said, I 100% believe the only possible way for anything to work out positively is to revolt en masse against the police, the government, and their stooges (such as the military and the corporations/media) or take the long route and, over the course of 50 years or so, work on building up a third party.
Unless we abolish the police, which is a legitimate idea, but again, no one with any power would ever consider it, we have absolutely zero other options.
So blacks can keep dying, people can keep doing peaceful protests, police will keep killing people, people can feel like voting Democratic will fix things, and nothing will ever get better.

the 1990s had less race riots than the last ten years. (2010-19) but if it looks better for los angeles then that's something at least.Headhunter wrote:It’s better than it was in 1992 which was better than it was in 1965.zombie wrote:so we're left with riots. which i keep asking someone to show me where they've worked in a positive lasting capacity. do black americans feel safe in los angeles now? do they feel like cops aren't racist in los angeles now? where do they feel that way?Headhunter wrote:...zombie wrote:you offered ways to potentially help, that we've already done, and continue to do. including rioting and clashing with police and police sympathizers. is that all the solution we have? cause it hasn't amounted to anything lasting, so far.

Community-organizations would be my recommendation. Very true. And impossible issue to fix unless we get ranked-choice voting.zombie wrote:there's also the problem of how many third party candidates vs. one main republican nominee and one main democrat nominee.Jigsaw wrote:To be honest, I don't think anything can be done. if they fill the void that is left by the police, as opposed to working as an alternative to the police, would they still act as they do now, without falling into the behavior that you don't like from the current police departments?Jigsaw wrote:Community-organizations would be my recommendation. then it is gonna take a revolution. and if the revolution and riots in the 1960s-70s weren't good enough. what looks more promising here, in the current time?Jigsaw wrote:Very true. I remember when LeBron’s property was vandalized with the N word and prominent conservative media people suggested it didn’t actually happen.

It’s almost like there’s a lack of leadership. Presidency by Twitter is finally showing just how bad it is. 4 years of achieving literally nothing at this point and everything getting worse.

He’s easily the worst leader we’ve ever had as president. In my lifetime, every president prior to Trump clearly defined himself as wanting to lead EVERYONE in this country. Trump does nothing but play to his followers. Divider in chief from the beginning. Sometimes leadership is simply a matter of saying the right fucking thing, and he’s NEVER gotten that right.

Yup. Just a gutless piece of shit. I can’t imagine how delusional you have to be to see what this country is right now and think “Well, at least we have the great Trump!”Jmac Attack wrote:I thought you were kidding about the bunker thing....but he actually is in a bunker hiding. Yes. I don’t want to prop up Nixon too much because in many ways he was terrible but he still viewed himself as America’s leader and embraced those responsibilities. All Trump cares about is playing to his base. He’ll go on a rally tour and soak in the adulation but when faced with anger and criticism, hides and screams at everyone else to do something like the coward he is.showa58taro wrote:Didn’t Nixon go and meet protesters?

This is what you get when you have a leader who has never been accountable to anyone. He’s been a bully, a liar and a cheat his entire life and everything has always been about inflating himself. He doesn’t care one bit about other human beings and he never has.
