trump is all about bully "law and order", the black community wants to fight for change, at any cost. the media is fanning flames at both ends. i hope someone is looking out for these communities, so that when the black community gets the change they need, that they have communities and jobs to come back to. they don't want to be have nots. i hope someone is ensuring that from the business and employment side. i hope that the counter productive and culturally destructive act of riot is being considered and things are being ensured that they can bounce back, if/when the communities get the change that they're fighting to attain.

we've "cancelled" actors from roles that we find to be insensitive or not progressive enough. we've "cancelled" directors for politically incorrect costumes they wear. can we turn some of that toward "cancelling" bully cops, bully politicians, and bully media pundits?

Not until a full 1/3 of this country stops idolizing these people.

well then what are the demographics on that 1/3? if any large number of them are black or other minority, what isn't changing their mind about the broken social contract?

It’s predominantly white people. Their philosophy is nothing more than trolling liberals at this point. Conservatism is all but dead.

so it's either more of the same with another term for donald trump. or... would biden do anything different? is he even in a position to be able to handle the presidency to be effective in any capacity? what are our options, politically on the large scale?

Biden would have a mostly competent administration around him compared to Trump. That’s a big difference.

I don’t know what can be done about Trump’s base. I think they’re just gone and never coming back.

and his base is a full third of the country? that seems a lot to fight against, even if the other 2/3rds were actually organized and unified into an agreed upon position.

I don’t know the exact number but it’s tens of millions of people who are basically hopeless at this point. They reject almost all credentialed media outlets, mock anything they don’t understand rather than taking the time to learn, and cheer on state-sponsored violence. I don’t think anything can be done in regards to people who think that way. Since Fox News, right wing media outlets with no interest in objective truth have really exploded as an industry in this country. You can delude yourself into believing anything you want now.

I’ve heard this a few times. It might be a bigger story right now if not for the intentional obscuring of why these protests are happening in the first place.

I’m curious if he knows what a coward he is, or if his mind is so warped and deluded that he thinks he’s brave and strong.

That call to the Governors looks so bad. The guy is awful at this. Legitimately awful. How can you not feign being President for a day.

So, the autopsy came back for Floyd. No underlying conditions. His death was because of compression to the neck and back area. Exactly what everyone saw on the videos. The coroner even said what we saw is how he died.

Heard some quality comments at work.

"The cop was arrested, why are they still protesting?" was perhaps my favorite. Another didn't seem to understand that cops rarely get tried fairly, and few ever face justice.

I'm not particularly outspoken about my politics at work, but walking by this uninformed conversation, I was just pissed, and briefly answered their inquiries.

It’s a black mark on this country that there was any debate about what killed Floyd. We fucking saw it on video. Unreal.

Has anyone considered that maybe he shouldn't have forged a check? It's illegal, so the police have the right to kill him, amiright?????
