Lol. Protesters were cleared out with rubber bullets (not intended to be fired point blank) and tear gas (banned in warfare) so Trump could have a shitty photo op where he held a Bible upside down and talked about defending the 2nd Amendment.

Good to hear. Wish more police to willing to actually work with their community as opposed to bully them and beat them down.
in all things, there is nuance.

Police training in Germany lasts two years and focuses on human psychology and de-escalation. Police training in the U.S. lasts on average three months and focuses on aggression and survival. The philosophy is “Better to be judged by 12 then carried by 6”.

More training would be good right about now. But also much better recruitment and screening and much higher turnover rate. On multiple levels.

How is there not a full and forceful demand from literally everyone that this guy resign now. He’s declaring war on you, the people, in full despotic manner.

It’s fucking crazy that a cop can be fired here for poor conduct and just get a job in another town. National police database that eliminates these “bad apples” from the system is a must.

Also, it’s wild how many police officers don’t live in the places they serve. There’s a disconnect when the people you serve aren’t your neighbors.

It’s not. It should obviously exist, and be run by a third party.

i really would like to see/hear as much "bad cop" outrage on tv, as i'm hearing about "bad rioter".... both need to be addressed, but only one is getting all the coverage, unless i'm just missing it.

This is how it always is. The message is obscured to the point of irrelevance and so many people are complicit. Discussions about the nature of police work would be such a better use of air time than cameras looking for people breaking windows. It’s fear porn from the mainstream media. Local news is the worst, there’s not even an attempt at journalism and context, just “We’re gonna follow the looters all night!”

The discussion is always hijacked and re-directed. The joke of it is there is never a “right way” to protest because it’s the content of the message that truly bothers these people. Kaepernick peacefully kneeling was offensive to people. All these conservatives disingenuously cite cookie cutter MLK quotes about peaceful protest today, but MLK’s approval rating before he died was 25%. 25%!

So apparently some of the people driven away by tear gas yesterday were priests at the church. Terrorized so Trump could have his photo op pretending to be a Christian for his idiot evangelical followers.

The way he held the bible was very odd. But yeah, all for a photo OP. Tear gassed peaceful Americans. Fucking pathetic piece of shit.

Really cool site that splits donations between a lot of different organizations focused on these issues of systemic racism. Will match any donations people want to contribute!

...and if you want to make a donation but it’s just not fiscally feasible, I’ll kick in donations for that as well.

Jon Jones being awesome.
Leftists and BLM activists don't know what to do when black people take initiative at these rallies to tell those idiots they're being idiots. They know they're being idiots, they just want to steal and vandalize.

if they just want to steal and vandalize, then they are taking advantage of a movement for a necessary cause.
