I don't believe it is that simple. I "meet" hundreds of people per day and I can see how it is not. For instance:
1. What is a meeting? Is it a handshake at an event with 100 other people? Is it a discussion about what to have for lunch? Or is it a sit down to talk about the topic that is under investigation?
2. What is a Russian? Is it someone who declares ties to the Russian government? Is it anyone from that country?
I saw an article the other day that was lasering in on Miss Universe, which Trump owned. You know, to show his "Russian ties". Included was a picture with Trump and a Russian tv producer. The article did not mention Miss Universe takes place in over 100 countries.
Trump is a big international business guy and now a powerful political player. He or his people are "meeting" with tons of people daily. I cannot tell you I remember irrelevant meetings either if you ask without context I will probably forget to list a whole bunch of them. "List all of the blonde people you talked to about catering in the last year...". Odds are, if I did remember it would be because there was real substance, not a short waste of time.
Remember the Obama and Bill Ayers situation? I am sure they met and talked, and Obama said he knew him casually while conspiracy theorists acted like he was the puppet master. Obama was in his home for fundraisers. He was asked and forgot. It happens.
Foo that is crazy. He had so many meetings with people offering dirt that he forgot the Russian lawyer a few weeks earlier and the other two guys also forgot. Ridiculous
But the meeting was a waste of time. It wasn't some big meeting where anything happened. I would have forgotten it too.
Right now, people are playing up Russia. So it seems like you would remember. At that time, it was inconsequential. It is like asking someone who eats out every day what they had for lunch last month. He might forget that time he got a gas station hot dog. If it was a birthday dinner or the hot dog gave him the shits, he remembers it.
I hate to speak for you but no you wouldn't of forgotten that.
Without context? It is highly possible.
Remember, if they are indeed not colluding with the Russians, there is no reason to make any real mental note of such a meeting. Somebody contacts them and claims to have info. Turns out there was no info. They are treating her being Russian as though she was from anywhere.
If you are colluding and/or knowledgeable about criminal activity, you don't take that meeting. Too many unknowns. They were ignorant and should really just admit that.

They were not going to buy crack. They were going because they were told there was information about Hillary. Crack is illegal, Hillary information is not.

Again I've said from the beginning it wasn't illegal but it was a horrible decision and stupid and lying about it means you are incompetent and a liar. I work in the cyber security business with mostly people with top secret security clearances and they laugh. Kushner should of lost his clearance instantly. It's a joke.

What I read into this whole situation is you basically have political novices doing nothing illegal but making rookie mistakes.
I also believe it is a massive distortion by the media who are not also presenting how typical this is of all high profile campaigns. Sitting down and listening to someone is not a crime. It is not unusual. Any campaign would have done so. Only after hearing the information would they have reported the information of it involved a crime.
I also completely understand how an inconsequential meeting months earlier might not get disclosed.
When I was in real estate all sellers of property had to fill out a disclosure form. It had at least a hundred questions. Four pages of "yes", "no", or "unknown" and a page to expand on answers in long form.
One of the questions: "Has the property ever experienced flood/water damage?"
The property owner marked "no". During an inspection, it was noticed that there was a water mark along the studs of a finished area. Turns out, at some point the owners son was playing in the basement. He broke a water line, panicked, waited for parents to get home, etc. So the basement got a lot of water in it.
The owners cleaned up the water, replaced the flooring, painted, etc. No problems since. While reading the question, the owners assumed the question was about outside water that might come in during a rain or be an ongoing problem. To them, that incident was essentially forgotten the moment it was fixed and was of no interest. They also believed the question had a different intent.
Were they lying or trying to cover it up? That is certainly a possibility. To me it is just as likely everything happened as they stated.
Now, when you are standing in a flooded basement, you remember that. When asked a vague disclosure question, maybe not.
