I just spent an hour trying to convince my resident that she can't call 911 to have a conversation with someone. I offered to sit down and talk with her but she said she needed to talk to someone in emergency services. I ask her what she'd like me to tell them is wrong and she said, "Nothing, I just want to talk to them."

Jesus Christ, lady, they're stressed out enough without people calling and wasting their time and taking away from actual emergencies. <-- not actually said.


She said I was making up rules about calling them. I said I just need a reason from her, any reason that would warrant calling emergency services for her and she said "I told you, I just want to talk to them."

So now I have to watch her to make sure she doesn't call 911 to have a chat with a dispatcher.



Now for the good things going on: Have been getting good feedback on some short stories

Oye, stubborn people. I haven't had any like that recently, at least at that level. I still have a regular customer who bitches about any petty thing, pretty much finds anything to gripe about a coworker, to the point where if he parts his hair differently that day, she'll complain about it.

Last feedback I heard from my editor is that while the content isn't normally something she'd be interested in (zombies, monsters, etc), she's really engaged and wants to know what happens next. She's been talking it up with her peers too.

I still expect it marked up to high hell though because that's how the sample was

She's also curious why I didn't really advertise/promote the Strong Female Character aspect of it. I haven't replied back yet with my answer, because it's "I'm a straight white male and I'll probably get attacked for it" lol.

I definitely don't have the patience for arguments online that'll just go in circles anymore. Just blocked someone on Twitter over the Jason being afraid of water BS in Freddy vs. Jason lol. He completely ignored my factual rebuttal how it's not a Subconcious Fear (because there needs to be external triggers, even they're just as minor as hesitating to go in the water, to actually be a subconscious fear. It's only "subconscious/internal" because it's deep/buried, but it'll still be triggered. It can't just be "exposed" like "ta da!" when there was no evidence of it prior, Subconscious =/= Invisible), and he just decided to start going in circles of "even the writers state this" lol. The writers are full of shit, even they know it with how they tried to backtrack on Crystal Lake Memories lol. Alas, I just don't have the tolerance to go in circles, so I was like "fuck it, blocking."

Lol. No matter what ya say, it can and will be used against you. I just saw on Facebook, a girl was bitching about mancaves. She said they are toxic and they exist only because men want to avoid their spouse.

I'm like give me a fucking break. Deleted her. I've deleted over 400 people. And not just crazy right wingers. The crazy far lefties are just as bad.

Making Mark 2 keto-friendly chili. Swapped out diced tomatoes for tomato sauce (I saw recommended) and so far taste testing is a massive improvement on the last batch.

Of course I'm gonna kill the keto-friendly part by making some fries for home-made chili cheese fries, but dammit I've been craving that stuff and the place I usually get a good plate of it burned down like 3.5 months ago. Everywhere else is lackluster. Was surprised even Farmer Boys Chili Cheese fries stank.

Well, it turned out pretty damn good. Not quite Tam's good, probably because I don't have a deep frier for the fries, but it was pretty damn good.
