See, I can’t fathom why anyone voted Republican and yet they do. Here’s a prime example. Clearly not enough to do shit for anybody, and watered down as hell. Just absurd.

Exactly, neither care about anything but themselves. 9 months of showmanship and theater on both sides.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Yep. And Dems didn't fight better, all compromised.showa58taro wrote:As a one off payment?

Re: Random Political Comments
There’s very little Democrats can do without a Senate majority. They can make a show out of fighting but Mitch McConnell would rather do nothing than compromise.
The Senate is just too powerful of an institution at this point. And its power so disproportionately represents places where people don’t live. Statehood for DC and Puerto Rico would help change the math a little bit, which is why Republicans will never allow it.

I believe Democrat senators represent about 20 million more people than their Republicans counterparts. Pretty ridiculous to consider.

Re: Random Political Comments
Certainly what I’ve seen is that they can’t “fight” with McConnell on this one. They passed the 3tn package in the house and repeatedly called on Mitch to take up the effort and he wouldn’t.
What really would help is if Romney, Collins and Murkowski would caucus with Dems as independents and get rid of McConnell that way. But I doubt they have the stones for it.

Re: Random Political Comments
So Trump decides to raise a little hell and call for $2000 stimulus checks. Pelosi, who must be smiling like the Cheshire Cat, says let’s do it. And now McConnell and the GOP will have to both publicly come out against Trump and say no to giving Americans more money.

Re: Random Political Comments
Democrats played that one brilliantly. Joined Trump for the $2k, either as a direct one off bill or as an amendment. Genius move.
Meanwhile the pardons have pushed him to an all-time corrupt President level. It’s not even subtle at this point.

I better stop hearing about what a gifted politician Mitch is. Actively undermining the goal of giving Americans more money was fucking stupid and they deserve to lose for it.

The Republicans’ last line of defense to maintaining power was put in the hands of two absolute fucking crooks who weren’t likable by any measure. Feels good to see things go the way they should.

It'd feel better if either of those Democrats was remotely leftist.

Soon there will be no one left to blame shit on. Dems control everything for probably 2 years than lose the house and senate.

Re: Random Political Comments
So because I used Turbo Tax, my 2nd stimulus is delayed? If that's so, how come I got the first one in a timely manner, but now it's like "oh, it's gon' be delayed cause Turbo Tax uses a different account number".
Fucking bullshit. I bet Mitch had something to do with it

Re: Random Political Comments
Republicans, have fun cleaning up this mess. You sold the party to Trump and appeased his craziest followers every step of the way for support.
