Meh, old jokes are all well and good but Biden is slowly poised to become the most transformative President in a century at this rate.

Objectively looking like the best president since Bill Clinton. Really a pleasant surprise. It's actually making Obama's presidency look worse in retrospect. Really nice to see the administration make an effort to reverse the trend of letting Big Pharma walk all over US politics.

When Biden tries to lead an insurrection, push QAnon theories, and doesn't attack others if they criticize anything he does, then you might have a point. But ya don't. Trump has as many speech gaffes as anyone, including Biden. Dude didn't even remember the words to our national anthem. Had trouble pronouncing China for chrissakes. Lmao.

Biden has been a centrist. Something wwe obviously need at this point. Fuck man....I moved away from the city I've lived jn because a good portion of the population believes Trump is gonna do a face off and rip off the Biden mask. But yeah....Biden and his dementia lol. Love ya buddy. Hope you are enjoying the weather.

Ahhhh....well then you should love the new infrastructure plan. I've been screaming about this since the 90s.

The fuck is this? Tom Cruise, whackjob scientologist who's been shat all over by cancel culture for years (Seb knows what's up), and ScarJo, a known whore, turn in their trophies, and everyone is all yay fuck the foreign press! I thought foreign in title made that a no-no. Yet people are praising Cruise. Is Mel Gibson gonna get into this line and throw his hollow trophies onto the fire? He'll be sucked off like a Hoover by morning. I always knew Hollywood was a cesspool but this is out-doings.

99% of Hollywood is now just a competition to try and outdo themselves with virtue signaling, wokeness and to see who can pretend to be the most offended. It's the fakest era in history among a generation of tattletales and inconsiderate, selfrighteous assholes. Not very entertaining, especially considering most people don't want politics spilled over into their entertainment. Ricky Gervais putting every snobby dork in their place at the Golden Globes was good shit.

Nearly every movie made before 2015 has cancel culture written in it somewhere.

those who cry about politics in entertainment all of a sudden are just virtue signaling. reality is that politics and social commentary have always been entwined in entertainment. and there have always been those that want to cancel it or police it or censor it.

if you don't like it, don't watch it or listen to it or read it. but at least be aware enough to know that it's not something only recent. it's gone on as long as any of us have drawn breath. :P

There's politics in entertainment, and then there's politics in entertainment. Let's not pretend the occasional political message in movies and TV shows of the 20th century even compares to what is seen today. Not only was it far less frequent in the past, but even if you disagree with the message it was still presented in a respectable way. All in the Family is one of my all time favorite sitcoms and it's considered a liberal TV show. The difference between politics then and politics today is there is no unity in the message anymore. All in the Family was an accurate depiction of reality where we see people with totally opposite political viewpoints clash in every episode and still get along at the end of the day. Today we get "white man bad, penis small, stop h8, I'm a victim".

realities change. people are less respectful and more divided now. it's true. that's reflected in the entertainment.

I wouldn't say they are any more or less divided than say 50 years ago. Again, look at All in the Family or Sanford and Son. When the messages get political, they try to bring both sides together. That's not the case anymore.

neither of us were there 50 years ago.

"they try to bring both sides together. That's not the case anymore" hence more divided. but i bet there was complaining about politics and messages in the entertainment of the 1970s as well. though again, we weren't there to live it.

Of course there was complaining. But nobody catered to the 8 people who feigned outrage. Today, it's a competition to see who can pretend to be the most offended.

there were court hearings and restrictions put into place and people or companies blacklisted/put out of business. there were celebrities investigated by government intelligence agencies. that's not outliers.

Of course, none of this has any relevance to the HFPA being a very transparently corrupt organization. :|
