My best new viewing was The Blob (1988), so naturally it wins all the awards.

I thought Diana Rigg was fantastic. To me, she stole the show. Btw....peep at what she used to look like back in the 60s. She was one sexy bird.Tiggnutz wrote:Best Actor - Pierre Brasseur (Eyes Without a Face)

Re: October Challenge Awards 2021
Anya is definitely a supporting role in Soho, I didn't even know there was a debate on that.

1. Last Night In Soho
2. Freaky
3. Freaks
4. The Hunger
5. Halloween Kills
6. Malignant
7. No One Gets Out Alive
8. Schock
9. The Power
10. Summer of 84
Honorable Mentions
Thomasin McKenzie in Last Night in Soho - breakout performance, can't wait to see more from her in the future.
Anthony Michael Hall in Halloween Kills - seemingly marred because his character makes dumb decisions, but he's still pretty great, and lets you read what he's thinking right on his face. The guilt all over his face when he realizes they weren't chasing Michael in the hospital is pretty stellar. Pair it with the look on his face in the end when fate comes back around...I really dug his performance. No I don't like this timeline's grown up Tommy, but I thought Hall was great at pulling it off. Still no Stamp.
James Wan's direction in Malignant - fearless in not giving a shit with popular demands these days lol. He loves batshit crazy stuff from the 80's and I love him for it.
John Travolta in The Fanatic - never deserved the Razzie for this. This movie is poorly written, but I can tell his heart was in this performance and will be one of the most underrated of his career.
Shop teacher's death in Freaky
Other Notes
Some categories were given wins just by being the only kinda stand out options. Such as, I don't think Halloween Kill's score holds up anywhere as good as 2018's score, but compared to the rest of what I've watched, it's still the one I liked most. Summer of 84's score sounded great, but unmemorable. Special FX was difficult because I wasn't really impressed by any, but at least transitions in Last Night In Soho were great, even if the blur-faced ghosts weren't.
