Live and let live.
The human race is gonna break this planet into submission, crusaders can fight it all they want, it's inevitable.
People can snort starter fluid for all I care, as long as I am not left paying for the consequences.
Usually what happens is people make stupid, selfish choices, and then when it blows up on them, we are suddenly a big community that should help each other.
"Steve the town drunk just had a heart attack and kidney failure, let's set up a gofundme and do a benefit concert...at a bar."
Steve the town drunk probably started drinking when he was a kid, though. Probably had parents that drank. Etc. We can go circles with the hypotheticals.
And Steve will have addict kids. When do we break the cycle instead of acting like Steve is a cool guy for being at the bar all the time?

I need the Oxys for my fibromyalgia, weed for my glaucoma, and alcohol for my nerves. Everything will be fine, because my dr gave me pills for the month.

Where did I say that though? And everyone knows if ya want the good stuff, you go to the kids at the bible schools. That's the truth. Preachers kids are always the go to.

That is a good point. Restriction does make said item more desirable.

Weed actually does help with glaucoma and if vaped or eaten, it's harmless. Do you take tylenol? I remember when I worked for Medco (Merk) all of the pharmacists said it's literally the worst drug for your body.......it just doesn't get you high.

It is awful on the liver. I don't touch the stuff.
Isn't it weird that in the last 20 years, there are more drug commercials on tv than cola commercials? I could be wrong, but I don't remember prescription drug commercials growing up. The RX companies can advertise and sell that shit, then give doctors kick backs. Foo should be raging against that machine too. But there are profits involved, which makes it seem more ok!

Maybe?
I work hard. I am gonna be responsible for millions going towards the tax system in my lifetime. Knowing a disproportionate portion of my pre-tax income is going to losers making willful choices to be losers instead of my family is troubling. I worked 40 of 48 hours on Friday and Saturday. Knowing that even 10 minutes of that went to support people like Steve the drunk instead of my future family is unacceptable to me.

That didn't happen until about 20 years ago. Claratin with the bee was the first one. There was a law against it but then it was removed.

How did you determine it is harmless?
I take vitamins and caffeine. I am not proud of the caffeine, but I don't expect others to pay for the consequences of it.

I just hope your kids never make stupid kid mistakes.......it's a crapshoot ya know. do your best, and put them in the best position to make better decisions.

Why should I be raging against them? They are selling a product. No different than someone selling spray on hair to me. Other things, like the government subsidizing it are when it become problematic for me.

Weed is downright useful, it's actually used in medicine.

Nothing is 100% harmless. But you get what I mean.

It is far from a crapshoot. Crapshoot implies it is luck. If you are blessed with a healthy child, luck is such a tiny part of it. Lead by example.
Is it coincidence my parents both worked constantly and never took sick days? Is it coincidence that they rarely drank? Is it coincidence they were entrepreneurs?
