There is no trans and gay panic. The only issue is with dudes pretending to be chicks and beating the shit out of them (figuratively and physically) in sports. It's nonsensical, and I sure as hell didn't want my taxpayer dollars to go to free sex changes, including inmates.

The Roe v Wade panic needs to stop. It's been propped up that abortions will be nationally mandated to be illegal. This is an absolute, 100% private and personal issue and the federal government should have no say. It's been released to the states so each state can decide and it was the right decision.
tax money going to free sex changes? when was this discussed? I admit that I don't pay much attention to LGBTQ matters so I don't recall hearing anything about taxpayer money paying for sex changes.

I agree that the federal government should have no say in abortions. But neither should the state governments.
Kamala Harris in several interviews said she supports free sex changes for illegal immigrants and prisoners.
Exactly why she was a shit choice to hand the nomination

Pretty much what happened during his first term. As I said to my brother this morning, not much will change nor be any different than the first Trump Administration.

The whole inmate sex change thing is such a nothing-burger, just red meat for reactionaries. How many instances of this do we think there have been? How much money? There are far more egregious things being done with our tax dollars, like propping up apartheid Israel’s genocide.

There are two possibilities: She actually means it or she is an opportunist.

Given she was sitting down with a trans dude and making those promises full out shows she an opportunist and a grifter. But she will also sign away the livelihood of anyone in the country to further her political career so who even knows what she'll do. She is so easily bought off it's insane.

Most politicians are grifters and opportunists. I don't fully trust Tulsi Gabbard, either. She raised her hand to give reparations while on a stage full of democrats. She could see the MAGA movement growing and shifted to the Republican party. I know she won't raise her hand for that now. She seems like a wonderful lady, but I don't fully trust her as a politician.

I think in either case it means nothing. Every politician panders and if it’s not pandering it would affect virtually nobody. I disagree with the perceived crime and immigration issues but at least those are actually issues that affect the greater population.

It’s pretty funny that the incompetent Harris campaign spent months parading Dick Cheney (literal Satan) and his daughter around to win Republican favor and Republicans turned out in even smaller numbers for them this time.

Democrats are natural born losers and they will never stop hopelessly chasing the “moderate conservative”. Those people will never vote anything but GOP. They will never outflank the GOP to the right on anything. Keep trying though!

I was watching the election results from 6:00 pm to around 5:00 am, when NBC called Wisconsin and the election (giving Trump 276 EV, if I recall).

I have plenty I want to say, and make fun of myself for some of my predictions, but I need a little bit to take in these results.

What I can say with certainity is that Harris was a terrible candidate, and her loss to a candidate like Trump, while perhaps expected (given Biden's unfavorablity rating) is utterly embarrassing, and the Democratic Party is unlikely to learn anything from it.

I made fun of Clinton for being such a shit candidate, and she was, so I want to compare results. Now, given that full results aren't in yet, these numbers may be incomplete, but I will note each case this occurs (and I am using NBC for these results).

I want to compare 2016, 2020, and 2024 numbers of various states, though I'll just post one for the time being. This is something many here may find boring, but if you want to actually find a way to possibly defeat these right-wing nutcases, you have to know the numbers behind their victories.

New Jersey:

In 2016, Clinton won New Jersey easily. She got 54.99% to Trump's 41.00%. In 2020, Biden won New Jersey easily; he got 57.14% to Trump's 41.25%.

With 91% of expected votes reported, Harris won NJ 51.5% to Trump's 46.5% - a margin of only 5% (and the closest race New Jersey has had presidentially since 1992, when Bill Clinton defeated George H.W. Bush 42.95% to 40.58% - and remember, Ross Perot ran that year, and got 15.61% (in 2004, Kerry only won with a margin of 6.68%, still better than what Harris is likely to end up with).

New Jersey wasn't called until very late, at least on NBC, and the fact it took so long to call was an immediate indication of trouble. Even though Harris won this state, if that margin stays around that 5% margin, that is a definite example of how utterly atrocious the Democratic Party did in appealing to voters in a state in which they usually win by at least 13%.
