The Good Die Young...

It will get heated. Can't take it, don't open the forum.

cool. if that came across more with your posts, then maybe there wouldn't be so much butting heads with seb and others.

What I do in real life matters much more to me than trying to impress internet liberals. I don't butt heads with Seb. I like him and he is a good person. I figure we agree on 99.9% of things, but the .1% are what we discuss because that is more interesting than constantly nodding in agreement.

you're the one that got defensive with your viewpoint, here. i don't know what that was about, if not directed to your internet friends and perception, based on your posts.

Just saying every post doesn't need to be worded like a pity party. I am not worried about perception, but I am also happy to clarify. Nothing was defensive.

no post should be a pity party. you don't have to be sycophantic or patronizing to show respect and understanding.

I’d echo this sentiment. :)

99.9% seems a little high  but the point is spot on.

i think more like 90-95% of stuff. and i think you'd probably find that to be true with everyone on the board. and yes, absolutely difference of opinion is vital for the board.

but that kind of misses the point of where the discussion started. i find myself looking at cops, in general, in a negative light. recognizing that and working to adjust it or counter it when i find myself falling into that, is a good thing. it's not just being a pity party kind of thing.

We both love F13 and are practically impossible to offend, while loving to verbally joust. The latter two traits are what cause us to have endless discussion on the things we do not agree on.

How much of your changing point of view on cops is personal experiences versus media reporting?

yeah, i don't have anything against debate or discussion. (unless it's playing devil's advocate for the sake of it) so you can put that away. :P

the changing point of view is me working to not have a negative outlook, where it isn't warranted.

But why would you have an unwarranted negative outlook?

Does this occur in other things? Do you think nurses are bad because some do bad things? Or teachers?

yeah, a little bit actually. not nurses or teachers but there are other professions, yeah. it's not anti-whatever, cause i actually see the flaw in it and care to change it. but it is a bias that i have.

Can you give me an example that is not stereotypical liberal fodder? (bankers, military, business people)

doctors... but that's typical of a large portion of people to a degree. so that may not be what you're looking for either.

why do you always call me out for "typical liberal" stuff? are you not pretty standard conservative in many of your views?
