Depressed the hell out of me. It's a comedy about a guy whose life revolves around the fact that he sort of knew a celebrity in college. Funny at times but mostly seemed to be an argument in favor of euthanasia.
Basically a movie that says you will get treated like shit and lose everything if you're a nice guy, but will get it all back if you start suing people. Not sure what they were going for, but I think they missed the mark.
Probably a better take on the movie than mine. The main character just struck me as pathetic.

Major Grom: Plague Doctor. Surprisingly good comic book film that doesn't have superheroes. Just a cop putting up with the usual corruption and a crazy guy in a suit with flamethrowers attached. Definitely worth checking out for comic book fans. Also, there are a couple intra-/post-credits scenes, so stick around for them if you do watch it.

Superdeep. Monster film with a bit of body horror thrown in for good measure. Has some weird dubbing even though it was in English, but otherwise it was decent.

Censor. Horror film about a censor for horror films set during the video nasty era. A bit meta, but still a good watch.

Beyond Dreams Door. Low-budget 80's monster flick about a guy whose dreams become real. I was expecting to see some real garbage, but it was actually really good. It has an interesting plot and some fun gore. The only thing really holding it back was a lack of budget. The actors weren't great, but they did what they could. Definitely worth checking out.

Gaia. Shrooms turn people into killer shroom people(sometimes, other times it just turns them into a giant fungus mound). Not as cool as it sounds, but still a good film. It's more about the madness of a guy that worships the shrooms, his son that doesn't know any better, and the lady that ends up stuck with them and fucks everything up for them. The only thing I didn't like was the ending after the ending. It seemed tacked on and actually detracts from the film.

Fast and Furious 984. Good mindless fun, just like the first 983 installments. First 4D experience and hopefully my last. Annoying as hell.

Werewolves Within ...... B+

Pretty good horror comedy werewolf flick that DOESN'T cheat werewolf fans with a scooby doo ending (though I thought it was coming for a while there, so glad it didn't). AT&T girl was adorable, and certainly qualifies now as a movie character crush. Guillermo from What We Do In The Shadows was fantastic. The makeup for the werewolf was pretty decent, but they did keep simple like a Wolfman style. I'm good with that. It's funny, the jump scares seem to be more there for making fun of jump scares, but it's still a serious story. The characters are funny, but the situation is not lol, and I like that kind of balance.

Good deal. I've had it on my pc for awhile now, but wasn't sure if it'd be worth a damn. I'll give it a watch some time this week.

I will say I was let down with the amount of violence, only because I read up the rating to see if there was the posibility of AT&T gal being naked (no chance lol) and saw "violent gore". It really wasn't violently gory :P

She'll never do nudity. She's well known for hating how she's been sexualized on the internet, so anything that would add to that isn't gonna happen.

Yeah, but I was still holding out hope :P

The Tomorrow War

There's definitely problems with the writing here, when Terminator, Aliens, the Thing and Starship Troopers are your blueprint, don't get wily or cute, follow the god damn blueprint. But there's a scene where our xenomorphs here, a shit ton jump off a cliff, and hang glide right into a chopper to take it down. Pay the fucking man who came up with that idea, kick back and have a good time, still a lot of fun.

Spiral (new Saw flick)

You hire Samuel L. Jackson to play Chris Rock's father, and Rock is named Ezekiel. Fire the man who did that, because you gave it all away (I'm sure they thought they were being witty about that though). And shoot in the face whoever decided on the new Jigsaw voice, you had how many people pour over this movie, and you all signed off on that shit? Probably the worst idea to hit a horror franchise outside of going to space, complete garbage move. Outside of that, it was a solid flick and I enjoyed the traps and the twist/end.

Slaughterhouserock wrote:Spiral. It was ok, I guess. It was obvious who the killer was from the start, but even if you didn't get it then, there's a blatant giveaway well before the actual reveal. The biggest complaint I have is the absolutely ridiculous voice used for the recordings. Tobin Bell had a great voice for this shit, but the one used in this sounds like a kid going through puberty. I literally laughed when I first heard it, because I thought it was a joke. Chris Rock was surprisingly good in a mostly serious role, though he does crack some jokes, especially at the beginning.
YES! I was even gonna make a comparison with you, how you and some others feel about the Exorcist, I thought that bullshit voice was a joke at first, then I just roll my eyes. If I wasn't in a fucking death trap, I'm never gonna take this seriously (and even then, I'd be like really?). You go from Bell's/JIgsaw's A+ voice and swan dived into the asphalt, and all these assholes are "yeah that sounds good!". Oy, not that I understand the world anymore, but whatevs.

fear street: 1994 was decent enough. some of the music choices were awesome. i liked the gore and kills but i feel like the film should have looked less glossy and leaned more into the cheese of the story. it was too convoluted to take seriously. for me. maybe i'll appreciate it more in context with the next two parts.

Definitely some plot holes i hope get explained in the next 2 installments but I really had a fun time with it.

Werewolves Within. Fun film. Plays out more like a goofy whodunnit than a werewolf film, so be aware of that if you're gonna watch it.

Beginning started off kinda slow, and shit it's a long movie considering there are 2 more installments, but it was a lot of fun.

Yeah, I was getting Knives Out flashbacks mixed with Fargo and had to punch out.
