I've listened to them in the past, but not in a few years. They're good for road trips and shit where you are doing something you don't really need to concentrate on, so you can still follow what's going on. I prefer shit that has a cast instead of a single "reader", though. Check out Graphic Audio books to see what I mean.

I didn't even know there was an updated version. I did purchase a newer paperback since I didn't have one of my own, and the only difference I saw were no illustrations.

If it's the newer version, it should say "revised" somewhere on it. King said he wanted to re-write the whole damn series, but only did the first one, which makes the later books confusing if you read the revised first book.

Just checked. Doesn't *say* it on the cover anywhere, but I gandered at the Forward (I usually skip those) and see that he mentions that this is an expanded version like The Stand, so there are about 3 or so new scenes. Still didn't read the whole forward, just quickly glanced at it.

Most of it is the same, he just added some language that he introduces later in the series to make it fit in better(or something along those lines). The only thing that might get weird is some of the backstory with the Man in Black he added, since the other books don't reflect those changes at all. Shouldn't be a big deal, but I can't say for sure, since i read it after having read the whole thing multiple times. Still, kinda weird to make changes to the first book in a series when those changes don't fit with the rest of the books.

Ordered a Dr. Sleep hardcover and the Crisis on Infinite Earts graphic novel

I got my first audiobook Star Wars Heir to the Empire. I have never read any of the Star Wars books and have always wanted to. I've been told this book trilogy is a good starting point.

I read one from a while back, that was highly recommended by hardcore Star Wars nerds, and it was SO bad I couldn't read others (because if this was one of the best...ugh). Luke, Leia and Han didn't sound or feel right at all, and the writing was amateurish. It was basically fan fiction that got the greenlight because Star Wars fans ate it up. I put off reading other "EU" books because of this, knew they wouldn't really be legit.

Unfortunately I can't remember the title of the one I read. :/

No idea if the newer stuff post 2012 is any good though.

Most Star Wars books I've read are pure garbage. Fan fiction, like D said. It's been a while, but I thought those books by Timothy Zahn were pretty good.

Going directly from The Shining to Doctor Sleep was a good decision

Finished the Batman Year one graphic starting on Flashpoint

Flashpoint was cool finished it quickly and now reading Batman the Dark knight Returns and let me say its superb

Imagine reading this book first, before The Gunslinger. That's what I did, because I didn't know it was part of a series. I was so fucking confused.

After reading this book, you will understand why everyone was up in arms about Idris Elba playing Roland in the film. Shit didn't make sense.
