John Harbaugh to Denver would be good for business, methinks. Especially when there is such a shortage of decent NFL head coaches.

That's why I'm not crazy about the idea. He's a good coach but I don't want another CEO-type coach, give me someone who can scheme one side of the ball into success, preferably the offense.

Lincoln Riley from Oklahoma will have his choice of jobs if he wants to leave. But Oklahoma is such a great gig, it would be hard to leave. They are by far the best program in the Big 12, which means great talent from Texas every year. Plus, he gets paid like a top 10 NFL coach already having to kowtow to the whims of a domineering GM like Elway. I'm not sure he can be lured away unless it's Dallas and Jerry comes with the Brinks truck. With Denver's ownership situation, they have been pretty cheap in recent years with coaching staffs and I'm not sure that will change. This might also be a problem for luring in someone like Harbaugh.

But yeah, Lincoln Riley is that dude. His offenses are beautiful to watch and he has really done a great job developing QBs.

Foo was a Roman guy, so probably it.

Jim has always been the better Harbaugh to me. He's one of the truly great coaches, still not an ideal fit for what I want as he is another CEO type but his teams are always physical and play hard all the time. He and Elway would not get along though and Harbaugh would want total control. Just from a personality perspective Jim is perfect for college and not so much for the NFL. He ought to stay at Michigan as long as possible, he probably outlasts Urban Meyer in the Big Ten and will get an opportunity to run the second best conference for a decade.

Very much so. I believe there is a Moneyball opportunity in the NFL for that offense. If you think of value positions on offense, FB, guard, TE, are all positions you can get top guys at good salaries. Then ride a couple young HBs on their rookie deals, one cut and go guys you can grab all day in the draft. Gives you shitloads to invest in defense.

As defenses are building with smaller coverage and pass rush guys, you build to overwhelm them at the point of attack.

Oh absolutely without question no doubt

It's Smith-Mahomes II. Only Jackson won't be as good as Mahomes.

Flacco will always have a place in my heart for being the first real Qb in Ravens history and his epic playoff run but he doesn't fit here anymore and that's not all his fault. Joe needs a strong run game to excel. I think he is a perfect fit for the Giants next year.
