Imagine reading this book first, before The Gunslinger. That's what I did, because I didn't know it was part of a series. I was so fucking confused.

After reading this book, you will understand why everyone was up in arms about Idris Elba playing Roland in the film. Shit didn't make sense.
Oh I knew why. I've read this before. The Gunslinger and Drawing of the Three were the only ones I've read in full before. This is still my copy from 2003 :P

Yeah, 'Detta would've made no sense with Idris.

With 17 minutes left on this first book I cant see paying for the second 2. I need something more mature. I didn't mind the audio book though it did help pass treadmill time.

Starting Crisis on Infinite Earths. Gigantic for a graphic novel

Yet general audiences hated Batman in that direction on film. Fucking weird. #Batfleckrules

Heir to the Empire. Tigg's earlier post inspired me to reread the Thrawn trilogy.

I take that back. They're already out. The one in May will be an origin story.

Shock Value is one I'll be getting to soon because I've been on a film history kick.

In recent months I read Easy Riders, Raging Bulls (about the great 70s directors) and Down and Dirty Pictures (great 90s directors, Miramax and Sundance). Right now plowing my way through City of Nets, which is sort of a mosaic of 1940s Hollywood.
Not removing until John Elway is fired.

An Imperial Admiral (correct me if i'm wrong on his actual rank, but that's what my memory claims) that is supposed to be this amazing tactician. He's also a race with red eyes and all blue skin.
