It’s one of those fairly easy ones where the people taking offense at your statement are in the right because that’s how this works. If I insult you, and then go “I’m not insulting you” it doesn’t work as you are perceiving it in an insulting way. If people say that you’re being racist and that’s being said widely across the spectrum then odds are you are being racist. That’s just fact at this point.

Not really a personal thing to me wanting Trump to die. I often want horrible people to die. I would argue that it is generally good for the world when horrible people die. I'm a humanitarian, that's all.

The people who need to be doing some real self-reflection are those who don't find Trump to be awful. That's a good stepping stone to evaluating one's own character and what you value in a human being. Just a thought.
