What if we just say fuck it, and we all have to keep our own roster until someone is injured or something...
Reading the thread it sounds like you’ve found a way to make it work. But you’ll have to excuse my ignorance, what does that actually do/mean since we haven’t got anything to auction with?Headhunter wrote:Is there a way we can turn the waiver wire into more of an auction kind of thing, where we all have a set budget for the year and people can send in blind bids? I know in the past, myself and others have really feasted on inactivity in the waiver wire when news breaks and it kinda feels like whoever sees a Schefter tweet first has a huge advantage.
Fantasy money! We all start with 100 fantasy dollars and spend it throughout the season. Every week from Sunday - Wednesday you can make blind bids on players, and whoever has the highest bid on a player gets them. After that deadline, everyone on the market is freely available as it was in the old system.showa58taro wrote:Reading the thread it sounds like you’ve found a way to make it work. Makes sense. So if you really want someone you jack up your bid. But if you both bid the same then it’s based on the original tie breaks we determine. How exciting.Headhunter wrote:Fantasy money! I've always thought the trade deadline should be pushed back a bit, but there's hardly ever any activity there.showa58taro wrote:So in terms of settings I can:
Change Trade Deadline (currently November 2)
Change how we review trades, how long trades take, and how we object. Currently 2 days reviewed by all GMs and votes to object.
Determine Waiver Priority (Asssume this was the setting) which had
-continual rolling list
-reverse order of standings
-Weekly rolling list based on standings
-FAAB w/ continual rolling list tie-break
-FAAB w/ reverse order of standing tie-break
FAAB w/ weekly rolling list based on standing tie-break
I can also change waiver rule (currently set to game time Tuesday)
Yup, makes the waiver wire something more skill-based than what it has been. Even with our expansion, at 6 teams there will be a lot of difference makers out there.showa58taro wrote:Makes sense. I like the FAAB thing. Would it be amusing to do reverse standing tie-break to favor J-Mac?Headhunter wrote:Yup, makes the waiver wire something more skill-based than what it has been. Ha, I'm cool with any of the tiebreak scenarios. Should be a pretty rare occurrence anyway.showa58taro wrote:I like the FAAB thing. Would sort out the $1 bidders on a mediocre guy.Headhunter wrote:Ha, I'm cool with any of the tiebreak scenarios. Should be a pretty rare occurrence anyway.showa58taro wrote:I like the FAAB thing.
