Jiggy, how is someone struggling to feed their children my problem? I didn't create those kids! Therefore they are not my financial responsibility!
Life is not fair and it's not meant to be. While I can understand how that sounds harsh it's just the truth of the world we all live in.
So your solution is to let kids die while we have the biggest military budget in the world?
I know that under this shit capitalist country, life isn't fair - there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't strive to make it as fair as possible, though.
So I will continue to fight against capitalism and this shit-hole country and the shit-hole GOP and Democrats who run it.
I can't make you care about social responsibility. You do you. I'll continue to do as I see fit.
I don't like the country anymore than you do but I do what I must so I could live the life I want to live. If my "status" offends you then that's too damn bad. I work my fucking ass off for what I have.
Capitalism isn't going anywhere in the foreseeable future if at all but good luck kid!
I don't blame you for doing what you had to do. I feel bad that so many people in "the greatest country in the world" have been in the same, or similiar, situation that you have, and instead of the system being blamed, individuals get the blame. It's not right.
The wrong side won the Cold War, and here we are.

But I also pulled myself out of that life, built up my skills to make more money and eventually got the to point of owning my own businesses and made a better life for myself. Nobody helped me! and If a fucking asshole like me can do it then anyone can!
And while I do agree with some of Jiggy's criticism of the system, especially where Healthcare is concerned. I do not support these anti-capitalist and their (as Reign said) batshit crazy ideas.

Jiggy wants you back in that broken down fucking car, while Moesha and Emilia Perez crap out baby #12 on your dime. These children will undoubtedly go on to be shining pillars of society, so take solace in that.
Wow, I didn't remotely say that.
Capitalism is what led him to that situation, so acting like socialism would somehow lead to the same place is ridiculous.
Where the fuck did I say that I'll take his money and give it to families with twelve children?
Before we increase taxes on the wealthy (which we obviously should do), we can cut the military budget and other government organizations (such as the aid we give to the genocidal country of Israel). None of which would require a cent from anyone on this website, unless someone here has billions I don't know about.
Your interference of the twelve babies was crystal clear!
I am good with cutting federal budgets. Musk be in the shop with the chop.

The Roman Empire was the greatest. Even you know that
The Soviet Union was terrible in so many ways, it was communism. That is very different from Socialism.
However, their innovations and impact on the early days of the Cold War can not be understated. Their biggest problem was government corruption. It's a damn shame the late reforms didn't take.

I agree with you on the governmental corruption. It's a potential problem in under any system. We have terrible corruption in this country in so many ways - something I imagine you would agree with - so it could happen in any economic system.

It's not beyond your control, though. We could have a nation-wide strike. We could march to our representives' homes and demand that they stop increasing the military budget (which both Democrats and Republicans continually do). There are avenues for change - to think that it's entirely hopeless and that "it is what it is" is the attitude that got us this deep in to begin with.

We already went on a nation wide strike, it was called the pandemic. How's the fallout of that working out for us?

Since that wasn't a nation-wide strike whatsoever, I fail to see the connection.
If 45% of the population had refused to work until specific demands were meant, then maybe we could call it a strike, but that's not remotely what happened.

What you fail to understand is that majority of the population doesn't care enough to make the changes you want. Now... Maybe that mindset changes one day or maybe it doesn't. But i doubt it will be in our lifetime.

fair. when capitalist politicians talk of tax breaks. they mean breaks for millionaires or billionaires. not for you. when "socialist" politicians talk about more taxes, they seem to mean for those same millionaires and billionaires.

okay. your money is being taken already. when they take it they should use it to help out americans, yourself included. instead, often, it is used to hold you or someone else back. to cause harm internationally. and also to line their own pockets.
While all that is true it's also beyond my control. I don't want to pay any more (extra) taxes or whatever these anti-capitalist keep talking about placing on high income earners. Instead let's abolish the IRS and cut this overly bloated military budget
mark zuckerberg is a "high income earner", are you comparable to that? if so, you're winning, congrats! otherwise, i don't think the tex increase is to take more from you.
You don't have to be a billionaire to be a high income earner.
fair. when capitalist politicians talk of tax breaks. they mean breaks for millionaires or billionaires. not for you. when "socialist" politicians talk about more taxes, they seem to mean for those same millionaires and billionaires.
I was talking about tax increases on high income earners not tax breaks. But okay.
