Finished True Detective late Saturday/early Sunday. Near Breaking Bad tier...

Movie's doing a pretty good job of puffing its chest with the artsy fartsy atmosphere. Not necessarily a bad thing, but 30% of the movie has passed and nothing is happening. Gotta get something going here soon.

It was p good, the music, visuals and chainsaw duel were bitchin. And Nic Cage was perfectly cast as no one does wily-eyed crazy quite like him. Still, I'm kinda with Jason in that I needed to be on some shit to truly appreciate. Rob Zombie likes his cult shit but I never feel lost or wondering what in the holy fuck... Different for sure, I can dig but not get crazy over.

I also don't really see much horror. Would keep it off my own challenge list.
