I need to see way more 40s and 50s movies before I can even think about doing a list. I'm taking notes though. Surprised that no one has mentioned Carnival of Souls for the 60s.

My recognition of films starts with the 1970s, as I don't do black and white with about 3-4 exceptions, including Clerks and Ed Wood.
